we have plans to make a post-nuclear version of the map for fun. from there we will add in some spooks. kinda try to make it a STALKER feel.

but thats a future project. so dont hope for it, or youll die of the wait.

Textures are different fr, but I can also say that some interiors are also different.

Ah that, i do have that feel. but thats mostly due to things like lighting, tonemaps, and such. what i COULD do, is go into 1999, pull these things out, and apply them to TriCity. the entire map will feel this way. which i dont mind

It could be me, but IMHO Hometown 2000 doesn't have the same vibe the 1999 version of the map has, and due to that, it doesn't fit the rest of the maps featured here aesthetically.

the reason that hometown 2000 was used over 1999 was because it was the latest version that could be used. i dont see much differences between the two.

The map should be compatible. the only things not would be any textures that Stormfox doesnt use wile changing texture types from normal to snow.

if you open up the stormfox map settings, and tell me or send a pic of what is on the map and what it needs, i can swing around at some point to add them in.

dont need to change the .vmf, just pop open the texture's readme in the texture select in hammer, and make sure its a lightmapgeneric or some crap like that.

Hometown was originally New South Wales, judging by the license plates on all of the cars on the original map. So I guess you could also say that TriCity makes no sense geographically speaking. New South Wales is in Australia and this is in the Netherlands. Both are far apart.

AH, youre asking for me to make a classic RP version of the map. i guess is what its called. RP maps now-a-days are made to have minimal physical items and simplified as much of the map as possible as servers can be effected by it. performance first.

Not only. It's possible to pick up game boxes in electronics store in the 1999 version, and the 1999 version features a gym. Overall, the 1999 version looks better in comparison with the 2000 version, and it has better gameplay. The TriCity map would be very good if it used the 1999 version of the HomeTown map instead of the 2000 version.

From my understanding, 2000 is better optimized in alot of ways. the removal of the police station in the Hometown sector was due to the larger police precinct in the amsterville sector.

But, this map is basically finished unless some bugs still persist.
