This hasn't really worked for me, since 7.0.. Instead of making me able to scan from far away, it requires me to just about crawl around on top of source for it to register..
Oh well, was fun while it lasted.

@Sanctus Demon Haven't tested it yet, but I've had no complain yet, so maybe it still works. I'll get around starting a new playthrough to test it next few week.

The mod hasn't been updated to 7.0 yet, I probably won't have the time to test the game until late July or August, but if someone finds a fix before that I'll update.

Thanks for the mod, works great. Its so much nicer being able to get signals that aren't stuck in the geometry of an object.

It wasn't working for me, so I changed the [@spacesuit='5'] back to [@spacesuit='2'] and it started to work again.

Ahhh. Thanks for this! I was so sick of wasting EMPs early game for a bug that apparently has been around since the start. Note to anyone else who loads this in desperation: Don't save when you're in your spacesuit when you're right next to the station. When I started I was thousands of kms away and moving further away at a high rate. Luckily I'd already unlocked teleportation.

@Two Broken Legs Normally the signals should always be outside of the collision model, sometimes that means that you can go through visible walls with some station modules.

So if the signal is unreacheable it's probably a base game bug. But if that bug shows up often, you can increase the range of the scanner by editing the .dat file under "X4 Foundations/extensions/spacesuit_bluetooth".

The mod is just one line of code so you just need to change the 10 into whatever you want. If you don't want your change overwritten by a steam update you can download the mod on Nexusmods and chantge the xml file.

Hi any chance you could increase the range a bit more please? The station collision boxes can be further than 10m from the signal, ex argon habitation. The surface is a long way below the collision box.

I haven't got around to update my mods, the latest version of the game breaks quite a bunch of mods that my other mods are partly dependent on, so it will take some time to fix them.

I just installed this mod, but it does not seem to work on the latest release and DLC? I get to about 7m and still can't scan.

This mod is very necessary in the game. Especially when the sector is overloaded and everything is lagging behind in the spacesuit

6 pages of mods and a handful from nexus, but adding this to the load order gives me an infinite black loading screen at game startup (cannot get to main menu or splash video) where I can only move my mouse around, unfortunately

@Shane I just modified one variable so it shouldn't do that. Try to load a new game with just my mod or deactivate save compatible mods one at a time. (Pro-tip make a collection of your steam mods for easy reinstallation, and save a profile of your nexus mods with vortex before doing that)
It also possible that you've hit a number of active mod limit.

thanks chief i remember when i wanted to scan something but it was buried deep inside of the object it was on so i could never scan it so i hope this mode will make it way better for me once i make my modded new game
