Id guess garry used the hl2:dm weapons due to smaller file size

Actually, I'm not sure how true it is that it was built on top of HL2:DM, but It seems as so.

Because HL2:DM doesn't have the Viewpunch, and the current Gmod version uses HL2:DM as a base.
