Hi, I'm CarenStridberg and I love this mod (very much)! I have made chinese translation for this mod and you can find the files at https://github.com/CarenStridberg/CN_RomesReusableMetal

I need this in B42 So bad
NinjaHamster 2. feb. kl. 5:10
is it working in 42?
Rome  [ophavsmand] 8. jan. kl. 3:03
it should work
PoshQueen 8. jan. kl. 0:16
hello! does the scraping recipe "1 unusable metal and hammer = scrap metal" still work? I can't seem to find it and only see the craft recipe with propane torch option. Do I need to be a certain level to get the recipe?
haddenj 17. dec. 2024 kl. 15:37
nice
Rome  [ophavsmand] 7. dec. 2024 kl. 2:12
Oh didn't know about that, I will put it in the description so people know
haddenj 7. dec. 2024 kl. 0:19
there is a fix made by Ulrich though "Rome's Reuseable Experience Fix"
haddenj 7. dec. 2024 kl. 0:06
it all works except for pop cans. No option exists for pop cans.
Rome  [ophavsmand] 29. nov. 2024 kl. 8:15
Sorry for the super late reply. I've been busy with work and had to take a break from the game, which is why I haven't updated it. As for whether it still works, it should, since it's just recipes.
Murilo Melo 27. nov. 2024 kl. 12:15
Is it working?
EmilioEilemCZ 5. nov. 2024 kl. 9:57
works but the torch isnt consuming gas
ɆL ₲Rł₣Ø❥42Ø 20. sep. 2024 kl. 17:05
stills works?
NinjaHamster 28. juli 2024 kl. 7:23
awesome mod but 2 scrap metal for enginge part its very little price. Or! you need level of mechanics for that, for example, 4-5 like for fixing engine
Emberbuck 22. juli 2024 kl. 19:09
Any update on the pop can fix?
Bon 5. apr. 2024 kl. 14:05
Did the recipes get more expensive?
Ulrich 6. mar. 2024 kl. 19:21
Of course!
Rome  [ophavsmand] 6. mar. 2024 kl. 10:23
yeah!, feel free, but I would appreciate if you credit the original mod source
Ulrich 4. mar. 2024 kl. 21:41
Hello, would you mind if I upload a temporary fix of your mod addressing the exp and pop can issues? You can feel free to incorporate it any time.
retr0l0gy 26. okt. 2023 kl. 9:21
idk if intentional or not but the recipes dont consume the torch making this a bit unbalanced
MicroBot024 24. sep. 2023 kl. 19:57
You're welcome! The "/" just means "or" in the code. So from a human readable standpoint, it's basically saying "Consume one PopEmpty OR Pop2Empty OR Pop3Empty"

Also, I think I figured out why there are three ids. Even though the inventory icon for all three empty pop cans are the same, they must have different models when placed in the world because there are three different (full) pop cans in the game that correlate to each empty can.
Rome  [ophavsmand] 24. sep. 2023 kl. 2:49
Thanks for the comments everyone! with the new steam notifications i didn't see that i got new comments here, sorry.
@MicroBot24 that's interesting, didn't know you could use "/" to add various items, i will update the mod with that and the other ids, thanks so much!
MicroBot024 22. sep. 2023 kl. 14:03
@Albert Whiskers, @xKilroyx
There are actually three total pop can ids (for some reason). PopEmpty (which you have a recipe for), Pop2Empty, and Pop3Empty.

If you want to fix it, you can replace line 30 in Metal_Recipes.txt with

"PopEmpty/Pop2Empty/Pop3Empty=1,"

I love this. "Useless" items in games infuriate me when they could technically be USEFUL items if just recycled somehow. I mean, look at all the DIY metal scrappers who melt down junk to make ingots to turn into useful stuff on YT. This would be no different lol. Sure would be awesome to have a DIY metal forge we could build and use to scrap things for cheap (use less propane or something) but I know that's a lot of work. Adding new code for a new item, creating a model and sprite for it, etc. I am quite satisfied with how this works though, thanks so much for making something that should already be a vanilla feature!
D'Wite 13. aug. 2023 kl. 19:30
@xKilroyx I’ve had the same “bug” happen to me, turns out the cans made from drunken pop can are different from those that spawn in garbage bins
space is cool 19. maj 2023 kl. 1:19
can you add tent pegs
East 12. maj 2023 kl. 17:27
does each recipe completion make you gain metalwork xp?
dopest metal recycling mod on here btw
xKilroyx 1. maj 2023 kl. 7:14
Ah okay thanks. Was going crazy trying to figure out what was wrong or what mod lol. I must have been using the beer can one and not realized. =)
Rome  [ophavsmand] 1. maj 2023 kl. 3:32
@xKilroyx yes there its one can that I couldn't find the id, that's why there its no craft for that specific can sorry
xKilroyx 1. maj 2023 kl. 2:17
Really enjoying the mod. Ran into issue where Empty pop can has no option to scrap and I have correct hammer on me. The scrap empty tin can works fine. Any ideas? It was working fine before.
EvilRamenNoodle 5. apr. 2023 kl. 8:31
Would you consider making the action of opening a jar lid produce unusable metal for re-purposing? It feels so wasteful, consuming the jar lid.
RavenousEye 3. mar. 2023 kl. 9:44
Would you consider adding a toggle to disable craft recipes? i'd love to only have the scrap recipes.
Fallen Biscuit 5. feb. 2023 kl. 12:58
@Albert Whiskers Yes I have a torch and it's full. I even carry 3 full of them. As I said before, I had all the necessary materials on me. I was also by the workbench and there was nothing craftable in the recipes.
Rome  [ophavsmand] 5. feb. 2023 kl. 9:36
Hi Sercan! Do you have the tool(torch) to? it need to have at least a little bit of "fuel"
Fallen Biscuit 5. feb. 2023 kl. 8:43
@Albert Whiskers I made a workbench, I have all materials needed, I can turn many things into scrap metal, but how do I produce materials such as metal pipe engine parts, the recipe is not visible. I'll be glad, if you help me.
Toot 29. jan. 2023 kl. 23:30
@SIN SIN you need to go to the load menu where all save are listed, click more options and then add the mod to the save
Rome  [ophavsmand] 26. jan. 2023 kl. 1:55
Hi SIN SIN, sorry for the late response, been busy with work! That's weird, i will try to replicate the error when i have the chance, thanks for pointing out the problem!
SIN SIN 25. jan. 2023 kl. 19:56
ok, known issue, only useable in new game but not in save game.
SIN SIN 25. jan. 2023 kl. 6:06
How to use this mod? I don see new tab at the craft menu, and inside metalwork tab also no new recipe.
Aurel# 28. sep. 2022 kl. 7:52
Hello, I love your mod, it gives value to everything it is genial. I have only one remark to make, it is the quantity for the recipes of transformation of metal to scrap which is to me much 1 in 2. As well as the recipe of the motor parts that seem to me far too simple where can. Long live your mod.:steamthumbsup:
Rome  [ophavsmand] 26. sep. 2022 kl. 15:51
Hi all, thanks for all the comments, I'm taking notes of all issues and i will fixed when i get the time! I'm so glad you guys love the mod! And sorry for the delayed updates!:steamsad:
Quill 24. sep. 2022 kl. 16:01
Ya I just ran into an issue of not being able to turn Empty Pop Cans into Scrap Metal
Tahvohck 24. sep. 2022 kl. 6:20
Another heads up. One of the soda cans (not sure which variant exactly) doesn't support being turned into scrap.
Morale -10 19. sep. 2022 kl. 14:12
love the mod, just hope it will last forever ^^
Radio 17. sep. 2022 kl. 15:35
i think it's pretty fair 2 scrap metal for 1 unusable metal
Radio 17. sep. 2022 kl. 15:33
would be awesome a option to turn scrap metal into unusable metal
Rome  [ophavsmand] 14. sep. 2022 kl. 4:22
Thanks @Tahvohck! I didnt play the last version, but I will check it when i have the time
Tahvohck 13. sep. 2022 kl. 22:38
Just a heads up, I'm getting errors on 41.73 with this. It works fine, but it may break down the road:

LuaManager.getFunctionObject> no such function "Recipe.OnGiveXP.MetalWelding2".
RecipeManager.LoadedAfterLua> no such function LuaGiveXP = "Recipe.OnGiveXP.MetalWelding2" in recipe "Scrap Unusable Metal".

Thank you my good man!
Rome  [ophavsmand] 27. aug. 2022 kl. 5:17
@☢ Выживатор ☢ Thanks, glad you enjoy it!
@Tofuman you can, but put in the description that you got inspired by my mod :steammocking:, nevertheless, you can follow the documentation on the wiki, its not that complicated really!
