Update. I've gone back and edited the build so now the reactors are able to pull from the same rear ejector inventory as the small hydrogen tank. It should now be more realistic to use in survival mode. My other crawlers will be updated shortly as well.

That is little bad. The design look very like vanilla ship encounter.
You just fuel it and take with you. You can always edit .sbc file in text editor to flip one reactor to be not facing coveyor. ;-)

Correct. If you want to use this (or the other ones) in survival you will need to either add another accessible small reactor or find a way to access the internal ones I put in

For Surival you need to have direct acess to small reactor.
