@XtalFMJ If you installed the system plugin, follow the system plugin installation guide, but enter 4 instead of 1 in the final step. You can uninstall the wallpaper by unsubscribing from it in the Wallpaper Engine UI or on the Steam Workshop page.

Having installed everything quickly (the following instructions) and following them, the context menu does not appear to open new windows or folders. To open at least some menu, you have to go to Wallpaper Engine. How can I solve this problem or is it not the left mouse button that is used for this, like the web version, but a hot key?

@kanae do you mean you set a URL wallpaper in the background properties? Open Wallpaper Engine UI and click 'Show more options' to open that properties window again and reset the background option.

if you have a URL wallpaper u can no longer exit out of it cuz it doesnt show the bar, im stuck with it now T_T resetting and presets dont work

How do I take the visualizer out of full screen mode? I've tried resetting the wallpaper but it doesn't go back to default.

@jesserocker Yeah, the keyboard input has been broken since the last Wallpaper Engine update (2.5). I'm working on a fix that utilizes the system plugin for receiving keyboard events, or an on-screen keyboard if unavailable. The implementation is now almost complete (see the GitHub repo for the progress) and will be released with the 3.3 update which will be released in about a month. For now, you can follow this official document [help.wallpaperengine.io] to downgrade Wallpaper Engine to 2.4 to modify those values.

Been looking for a solid Wallpaper Engine desktop Wallpaper some time, and this one definitely takes the cake. The attention to detail is amazing!

Just one thing, when I go to edit values the program freezes and I can't use those text boxes that pop up to edit the values. [...] (1/2)

[...] (2/2) For example, if I go to the Visualizer, then Options, then Configure Visualizer, under Visualization I'll try messing with the Primary Scale, Decrement Speed and Difference Scale values, and as soon as I click the text box, I get a pop up box prompting me to change the values, but everything, including the background freezes. Clicking, double clicking, hitting delete, hitting different numbers, nothing works to change those values and the program stays frozen until I go into Wallpaper Engine and manually deselect, and re-select your wallpaper.

The Visualizer and the entire wallpaper, is so cool especially in combination with my old school version of WinAmp, however the bars don't take up nearly as much of the screen as they should. I would oh so love to see a fix for this eventually! Otherwise, killer Wallpaper... seriously!

@waymin That's the welcome music played along with the welcome window. It's same as the one found in Win98 (search for Windows 98 welcome music.) I will consider turning its volume down.

@waymin Real Windows 98 also had both the startup and welcome sound. Disable either the startup sound or the welcome screen. Disabling the former will also disable the welcome music altogether.

the music is so loud and unecessary, and you should feel like a fool for even adding it

@ULTRA-VIOLENCE! You can click a title bar icon of any window, press Configure -> Properties to open the options window. You can also open a new window and change its URL to 'config.html' to keep the options window opened permanently.

Made it MIT licensed and added a simple method for a background HTML. (Unfortunately, I failed to implement directly importing HTML backgrounds for the reasons in the changelog.)

Yeah, i already did that here locally but by adding the HTML code below yours and it worked like a charm, so yeah, it should be ok.

Thanks, I'm currently making a feature to set background as HTML, so merging them would be easy. Also planning to MIT license this (only for my work, not the MS one).

Amazing, i did something similar not too long ago, but using the Windows 95 one.
Maybe you could merge both the 95/98 one and this one?
