@kayedon you ever had bread made out of meat?

Considering the fact that your receipe is only made of flour it seems pretty reasonnable to put it under vegetarian (vegetarian pawns would not object to it anc carnivores would find it revolting). Plus it would allow us to make it into fine meals by adding cheese or meat and would only be simple meal if used with other vegetables.

I'm not sure where bread would fit as an ingredient.

May I suggest that you make it so bread, much like cheeses and canned food from Vanilla cooking expanded, count both as a meal and as a potential ingredient for other meals? We're just that close from making sandwiches...

Most likely. I was waiting on Cooking to update before I confirmed it worked, and there's been a LOOOOOOT of stuff going on since 1.4 dropped and Cooking updated. It'll be tested and uploaded soon.

Pumpkin bread and banana bread are not found in the mod file of vanilla plants expanded. Maybe I'm too stupid

I can't find bake pumpkin bread X5 and bake banana bread X5. I don't know which mod file it is in.

Hi! I'm sorry, I honestly don't know anything about VGP and did not design this mod with VGP in mind. I do not currently have access to a computer to provide a patch to hide my hard tack. I appreciate your patience.

You added hardtack. VGP already has hardtack so now it's duplicate recipes or I have to pick which mod to keep.

@Maya: Thanks for the suggestion, see previous comments for some changes. Not personally interested on it being an ingredient in other meals.

* Updated to 1.3, with the following changes:

- Added hardtack, 30 flour to 15 hardtack. 0.2 nutrition. Lasts 180 days, causes an increasing mood debuff for continued consumption. Hardtack is gross, don't @ me.
- Reduced baked bread from 50 to 30 flour. Lowered nutrition from 0.7 to 0.5.
- Reduced pumpkin bread from 50 to 20 flour, and from 20 to 10 pumpkins. Lowered nutrition from 0.8 to 0.6.
- Reduced banana bread from 50 to 20 flour, and from 20 to 10 bananas. Lowered nutrition from 0.8 to 0.6.
- Reduced zucchini bread from 50 to 20 flour, and from 20 to 10 zucchinis. Lowered nutrition from 0.8 to 0.6.

I have a small suggestion, instead of 50 flour to 5 bread worth 0.7 nutrition each, what about 7 bread worth 0.5 each and can be used as an ingredient in other foods? I think it would be possible to make it a grain that cant be turned into flour, or if not it could just be a vegetable for the sake of simplicity.

How about flour + allspice = garlic bread?

@Kayedon flour is also neither a meat nor a vegetable and they managed to put it somewhere ;). Still having bread for example classified as a vegetable seems less weird to me than considering it a meal.

Would you consider the addition of some form of hardtack (flour water & salt) as an unappetising and low nutrition but long lasting pemmican alternative?

There's two mods that adds Honey, and it's a class on its own (ingredients or honey products), maybe something similar could be done with bread.

@Kayedon Tofu and meat-substitutes also aren't meats, but they're classified as that because they're replacements.

Hi, I'll see what Alastair's thoughts are. We initially went with a loaf of bread, but couldn't really make it make sense. Not sure where bread would go as an ingredient, as it's neither a meat or a vegetable. :P

I would think bread would look better in a pemmican style sprite. Loaves that pile on top of each other depending on how much is present in a stack.

It'd be fun to make bread with an icon that doesn't include a plate, just so you could use it on other meals. Using bread to cook better meals should give bonuses to the meal, since bread is lovely on its own but it's mostly used in cooking to improve other foods.

You plant it! It's a feature of Vanilla Cooking Expanded hence why that mod is required.
Planted as wheat, harvested as flour.

@ZX Zero: My colonists are living on canned insect meat, it is quite nice to eat after be cooked into another meal. (FYI: I have no problem with eating some insect irl)

Could you allow bread to be cooked in another meal instead of just be basic meal? It will be good resource dump for flour instead of turn into whiskey.
