Life ♥♥♥♥. Hell, I don't even have an usable PC for that.
I'll surely work on the mod again once I'll get my ♥♥♥♥ together, but for now, try to use an other visual mod.
P.S: I don't even know how the ♥♥♥♥ HD can broke a mod which worked before. What a bunch of amateurs.
1. Unsubscribe
(2. Delete the mods archive file from your game\mods folder) Not necessary but helps to avoid bugs later.
3. Delete your game\data\slp folder
4. Verify your game cache
5. Wait until all data needed to reset the default is downloaded
6. Restart the game
Steam Workshop isn't that intuitive 11
a) not all modders are aware of all this and
b) there are a lot of people not reading all the description texts... even if they are pretty short...
So for most people seem to have no problems it's more easy to answer questions coming up directly. :)
AoEs mod system isn't fully compatible with steams workshop system.
For that reason, this counts for ALL mods:
Steam can only handle files present in the current installation package, which means additional files will NEVER be touched.
But AoE uses additional files for almost everything.
Therefore everything except terrains, parts of the soundtrack as well as some base sounds and taunts overwriting the original taunts (instead of adding new ones) won't ever disappear after uninstalling a mod.
This means files like scenarios, campaigns, all non-terrain graphics, most taunts, parts of most soundtracks using the new sound system, ... will stay.
So the question is not why this mod has a complicated way to be uninstalled, but which files exactly have to be uninstalled manually.
And no mod will be uninstalled by just unsubscribing from it. Steam doesn't check/overwrite your files on it's own, this would make modding impossible. You have to tell steam to do so manually. And this is done by verifying your game cache. Some newer games may interact with steams workshop in a more easy/better way, but this game is 15 years old. Making it fully compatible with all today functionalities, would mean to rewrite its code/make a new game. AoEs functionalities are limited.
I got rid of it but I cant get ♥♥♥♥♥wood or grid to work now.
Your mod needs to have a warning and maybe post in its desciption, the complicated way it needs to be removed.
Subscribers BEWARE !

What I still don't like that much are the snow mixes...^^ The snow layer looks weird and has much to much tilling for me.
Think I'll use your water recolor for my next terrain pack if it's ok for you.
And I have to work some more on it, some of the terrains definatelly need some kind of overhaul now. :)
