does this mod work for the current update
BejeweledSun0 11. juli kl. 19:32
Whoops, looks like the Heritage is fixed, but the Language is still the string.
BejeweledSun0 11. juli kl. 19:23
@Herkles Thanks! This really is one of my favorite mods ever. Really makes playing in India much more varied and interesting.
Herkles  [ophavsmand] 11. juli kl. 15:56
@BejeweledSun0 that should now be fixed.
BejeweledSun0 9. juli kl. 15:14
There seems to be a localization issue with the Khasi culture. The heritage and language is shown as "heritage_palaungic_name" and "language_palaungic_name" on the culture screen.
Sa1azar 5. juli kl. 23:40
This mod is excellent, but it appears that some of the special characters in people's names cannot be displayed.
The name of King Abyssinia in 1066 should give you an idea of what is going on.
Artfulorpheus 30. maj kl. 20:46
I opened up a discussion for some suggestions and critiques I had, though I also wanted to say I am very impressed with the mod on the whole.

Harfagri 16. dec. 2024 kl. 17:32
Great mod! One little bug I've noticed is that Maturidi characters are unable to appoint new court chaplain once the old one dies
Kekirumania 9. dec. 2024 kl. 15:07
Hello its compatible with rice or muslim enchantements?
Riaman 1. dec. 2024 kl. 19:39
well no, as per religious doctrines it should be banned. But south India cultures other than Malayali cultures should have a tradition which over rides religious doctrines. Cross cousin marriages only happen in South Indian states. And it is not due to Mahabharata, its a cultural phenomenon. particularly Tamil, Telugu and Kannada thing.
rathinaman001 1. dec. 2024 kl. 19:18
Exactly which means cross cousin marriages, beacause the children of your sibling of a different gender will generally belong to a different dynasty
Riaman 1. dec. 2024 kl. 11:56
Not sure if something like Mahabharata is followed it's an epic not 9th to 12th century reality. Though south Indians should do cousin marriages. And north Indians should never marry within same dynasty.
rathinaman001 1. dec. 2024 kl. 10:51
Also, a different consanguinity tenet for all Hindu religions, call cross cousins, in which you can basically marry cousins who are born from a sibling of a different gender. For eg I am male then my son can marry my sister's children. This is in line with various Vedic texts, like the Mahabharata in which Arjun married his first cousin Subhadra and Shri Krishna married his first cousin Mitravinda.
rathinaman001 1. dec. 2024 kl. 10:42
Hi boss, an extremely good cultural tradition would be Vasudeva Kutumbhakam, which will basically give a positive opinion to people of that culture from opposite cultures. Also the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya and the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu would be nice additions.
Pigsy 19. nov. 2024 kl. 18:00
Thank you so much for updating.
Tapir Kaiser 15. nov. 2024 kl. 15:10
How can I construct the Potala palace? The building slot is greyed out and it simply says I can't build in the location.
lucia 8. nov. 2024 kl. 12:29
Nice job on the update!
I've noticed the last lines on the descriptions of the new bookmark characters are not bolded, is this intentional? There's also a couple grammar mistakes like "chola" not being capitalized.
Dallan 8. nov. 2024 kl. 9:49
The wheel turns and a hero is reborn!

Overwrought, yes, but you have no idea the lengths I went to to keep playing with this mod for the past two years. Welcome back!
Dogface_08 3. nov. 2024 kl. 11:41
this is such a preppy mod

GoatScream 9. okt. 2022 kl. 22:51
This mod seems to replace the background of all cultures in the military, government and other tabs
Kaiser Waffle 19. sep. 2022 kl. 4:19
This mod makes india 1000x more interesting , did you ever think of adding anything about indias small zoroastrian , christian or jewish communities ?

If you could give this treatment to Africa and other parts of Asia or Europe for another mod that would be awesome too.
Riaman 12. sep. 2022 kl. 10:45
its updated just not mentioned here

Update?
Karstaag 31. maj 2022 kl. 4:49
@Herkles So is it okay if I integrate your mod into mine?
CrusadeExterminator 14. maj 2022 kl. 23:15
@Herkles, what of the Indian caste system?
Nyktipolos 23. apr. 2022 kl. 19:52
Also, before I forget. The decision to choose a philosophical school always says "Buddhist" even when it opens the Hindu options. Thought that might be worth looking into.
Nyktipolos 23. apr. 2022 kl. 19:52
I absolutely adore this mod because this makes the eastern parts of the map much more interesting than they were originally, as well as me knowing a lot of the subject matter as well myself.

However, I would like to recommend that you proofread over a large amount of the text you've put in for grammatical errors (example being, the description for Devotee of Murugan has "shiva" written in lower case. This is just one example of many.)

But more importantly, while I don't care if the contents are unbalanced, an issue arises in that it is not balanced within itself. A notable example is that if I follow Samkhya I get a +2 to Learning, but if I follow Advaita Vedanta I not only get a +3 to Learning but also Monthly Piety +20%.

Overall, I absolutely love the contents of this mod but if you just refine this further it would genuinely be amazing.

I have not played too extensively with this to be able to spot enough major issues but the above ones are what first stood out to me.
Assassinsat 21. apr. 2022 kl. 22:57
Hi. How is the compatibility of this mod with other cultural overhauls?
Herkles  [ophavsmand] 9. apr. 2022 kl. 17:14
@karstaag: feel free to use any part as you wish. I just ask that you credit me :)
Karstaag 8. apr. 2022 kl. 13:57
@Herkles Can I use your bald Buddhist monks mechanic in my mod if I give credit?
GoatScream 22. mar. 2022 kl. 16:26
For some reason all of the culture's council backgrounds are changed to the ones added to this mod

Herkles  [ophavsmand] 16. feb. 2022 kl. 9:12
@Prince Nitin Kosaria The mod hasn't been updated yet. I am still working on getting things up to date for the Royal Court. Patch 1.5 contained a number of changes to India not to mention the culture overhaul. But I am working on it. No ETA atm.
Herkles  [ophavsmand] 16. feb. 2022 kl. 9:10
@Riaman: I have some thoughts on how to handle the number of Religious sites and for balance; but likely won't be for the next update. Maybe the update after that.
Prince Nitin Kosaria 15. feb. 2022 kl. 23:16
east india is showing akan culture
Riaman 10. feb. 2022 kl. 1:03
right now there are way too many religious sites, instead of trimming them down or nerfing them it can be done something like certain sites only are holy to certain sects.

like ayodhya for vaishvanite related sects,

kashi related shaivite sects

certain sites only for surya sect

certain sites only for devi sects

and may be keep vanilla sites for smarta sect.

same for buddhism, buddhism is even more wider spread, may be working like other than gaya rest of sites depend on sects and their proximity to site.
Herkles  [ophavsmand] 9. feb. 2022 kl. 21:34
@GoatScream Yes, this will be updated but it will take some time to get things to updated. I don't want to say an ETA yet as I am still working on getting thing but never fear I am working on it.
GoatScream 9. feb. 2022 kl. 10:14
Will this be updated?
House of Krey 14. jan. 2022 kl. 5:35
Gonna include this (with credit) in a personal mod that will not be released. Also, would love to see cooperation with the More Bookmarks+ dev, AFAIK the mods are incompatible at the moment, but it'd be cool to have a compatibility patch or something!! //not forced, just a suggestion
Riaman 24. dec. 2021 kl. 0:08
Hello! You have made an incredible mod but there are few game breaking mechanics, First one that when a barony holder dies his entire wealth and holdings are transferred to his/her liege. This is game breaking bug. Second since Indians now start with primo, is the primo also applicable on Indians outside India like Kallar Shahi the Last Hindu Kabul Shah in Afghan Culture.
TH0T51AY3R 8. nov. 2021 kl. 6:38
Aside from that, I'm really glad there's a mod that adds flavor to this fascinating region, thank you!
TH0T51AY3R 8. nov. 2021 kl. 6:32
I absolutely agree with ZaneO, even if primogeniture was historically accurate to the region in this period there should still be some game balance. I'd prefer large empires to be split up in the early game rather than stay game-breakingly powerful.
Zane0 24. okt. 2021 kl. 14:32
Your changing of all indian inheritence to primogeniture is pretty consequential in comparison to your other changes; it should maybe be moved to a discrete sub-mod. Your change also extends (intentionally or unintentionally) to cities -- the republican form of inheritance does not exist. Since mayors do not get married this means all cities in India are inherited by their feudal overlord -- along with about ~100 to 200 gold every time. This is a pretty big disruption to vanilla gameplay; not balanced at all.
Your Resident Scene Girl 24. okt. 2021 kl. 13:03
also will you be giving the mundhum faiths and the non-hindu faiths this mod adds unique symbols, since mundhum faiths in vanilla have their unique icons.
