really just an idea i was hoping for from this mod but im sure you know what your doing and will figure it out as you go, or maybe youve planned all this out lol. though i hope my feedback is helpful even if it isnt what you want to go for!
The two newer smaller mods in the reboot so far add the new (and improved) custom subrace of of humans - Hybrids that are actually modelled to have those legs and the second mod has the 'Blood Queen' start mod that lets you control a Queen hybrid and starts you off friendly to spiders and with a few hybrid helpers, new hybrids can be recruited if you lock them up and talk to them (they don't have any requirement beyond that).
All that said its still a work in progress but I wont be updating this version of the mod anymore, just adapting the features it had into a better series of smaller mods that build on each other.

Throw a faction leader into a Peeler, come back a little later and find a Cyber'ed version read to join your squad. If they die elsewhere, the theory is that the Cybermen grabbed the body and upgraded the poor soul.
Posting it as a proof of concept for now, as maybe it might give you some ideas as well.

I still need to think some more on the mechanics of it and fiddle with it to get it working right.
from my understanding he made fogmen camps spawn all over the map and replaced them with his aliens, maybe you can find another mob to spawn and replace them with your parasite mobs and make them recruitable in a custom start like the deadhive rising mod, just an idea, i think itd make a good playthrough taking over the world like that, anyway good luck with your endeav
p.s. you might not have to make a mechanic like that but give the illusion its happening in world like the aliens mod kinda does, in that mod there are face hugers that spawn and can attach to
I'm guessing if a unit can both eat a person and enslave a person, the eating overwrites everything else. Note there are no cannibal slaves. It's probably a limitation on the engine, as the devs would probably have allowed the cannibals to enslave people and then eat their slaves if they ran out of food if they were able to get it to work.
BUT: You can create two identical units: One set to eat and one set to enslave. So it will look like some of the faction members are enslaving and some are eating. Maybe.
Crawling on all fours has always been played like it, with a character edit of a gorilla-bandit-like posture!
I figured if it had a spider arm, it would refine its movements even further.
I haven't decided on a spider arm prosthetic but its a definite possibility.
As for walking on all fours, Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to change walk cycle animations mid game without new custom animations and probably new skeletons. I can do that but it amounts to a huge amount of work to make it stand alone from the stock stuff.
Would it be cool yes, but I probably wont have time to do it all.
