There's an option to stop such popups now, as gunsandgloves said. I also suggest you untick "display popups when noting information in your journal" if you have that one thing that lets you learn secrets from trash.

You can turn it off in the options, go to the prompt area in the options and there is an option for "show scavenged items as message log entries instead of popups"

Re: the 'bSurpressPopups' error: the devs renamed 'bSurpressPopups' to 'bSuppressPopups' - the difference being the first R in 'Surpress' corrected to a P, as 'Suppress'. You can easily fix this yourself, but Steam comments don't let me fully detail the steps, so forgive the brevity of my instructions:

Find the 'SuppressScavengingPopups.cs' file in your Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\333640\2195263366 folder. You can search for it from the Content level if your numbered folders are different.
In a text editor like Notepad, find the two instances of 'bSurpressPopups' and correct them to 'bSuppressPopups'.
Save and exit, and make sure to activate and reload the mod in Qud.

If all went according to plan, you should not receive any errors for this mod! It's a simple fix, and hopefully the mod author sees this, and makes the change as well, as it's very quick and easy, but until then, I put the power in your hands!

So, I've had this active for few weeks now, and I know I must be doing something wrong as it has never worked. In the menu, the option is selected yet the prompts still come up every time.
