Great, now I get to really test things out:steamhappy:

All scripts have been updated.

Is this still working?

I was unable to find the mod with that name.

Does it work with Newtonian Gravity?

It's best to describe those errors in detail.

Hello, is this script currently working? I'm receiving errors... Trying to figure out if I did something wrong or not. Thanks!

Height of the lowest point of orbit in kilometres.

PeriapsisAltitude What is this value? I am not very good at english but what should I put in here to make it function?

No.

Is there an easy way to automate the process of orbital rendezvous, so that an unmanned/autonomous vehicle can do it without a pilot?
Knsgf  [ophavsmand] 3. sep. 2020 kl. 0:58
First thing you should always do when using programmable blocks is to check ownership, as the game will not allow nobody's PB to control blocks owned by someone. Then make sure that PeriapsisAltitude in Custom Data is set. On default setting script will just sit idle.

hi, im trying to get this to work, but clicking run after recompiling it doesnt seem to cause it do anything different. this is my first time using programmable blocks though so i might be missing something (even tried with default settings)

Yeah the other script works well, thanks!

You most likely are playing with thruster torque enabled. The simplest way to turn it off is by using this version of the main mod.

There is also another script which can keep the station pointed in particular direction, but it requires at least 1 gyroscope on the station to run.

How do I get my space station from turning upside down every half an orbit? I've tried applying different values but without success. I don't really understand all the terms used and english isn't my first language so I'd appreciate help.

While it is true that without using thrusters or gyro's a ship/satellite in orbit will point towards the planet on one side and away from it on the other, most satellites maintain a spin to keep one side toward the earth. The ISS maintains a 4 degree perminute rotation to keep the earth on one side. During docking the stations alignment is adjusted relative to the orbit of the approaching craft to keep the approach/separation burn inline with the orbital vector. https://www.quora.com/How-does-the-Soyuz-undock-from-the-ISS

Communication and mapping satellites keep a constant face toward the earth in order to do their job effectively.

Which brings me to the SE reasons to maintain orientation relative to the planet.

Stealth communication satellite using laser antennas would be easier if an antenna could be kept facing the planet.

Spy/mapping satellites.

Planet subjugating weapons platforms.

oh yeah i forgot about that haha. havent played SE in quite some time. But thanks!

Click "Recompile" after entering values.
Finn_Dane 7. juli 2020 kl. 11:00
I can not get this to work do you just click run or do you need something else. I entered the values but it doesnt do anything. The lcd on the programmable block says inactive. What did I do wrong?

Try to imagine the Starship Enterpirise orbiting a planet. Can you imagine it flying along ass backward? .... Um, No. It orbits nose forward, 'flying' around a planet, keeping either its side or its bottom to the planet.
Knsgf  [ophavsmand] 1. juli 2020 kl. 10:49
I don't see any practical use, as realistically a ship in parking orbit should not make any unnecessary movements when another ship is approaching to dock.
Greyson XMG 30. juni 2020 kl. 12:27
and aligned with planetary gravity? Small things, but it is weird to approach a ship that is orbiting backwards.
Greyson XMG 30. juni 2020 kl. 12:25
This was VERY needed. Perhaps a feature to keep the ships nose in the direction of travel?
