Why do they have an attack penalty for being in the belt slot? Is that just hardcoded?

Not sure where these items are supposed to be in the "spoiler" bit. There's two places that sell stuff, and neither had anything. Unless it's a search buildings and see if you can loot some?
However, I did find some not very good ones in one of the two cities to the east in an armoury of all places.

@Talk Dirty I don't think you understand the point of this mod. It's to boost Martial Arts, which is a separate skill and uses Strength to deal damage, not Attack. Martial Artists don't use swords and thus don't need the Attack skill.

So I've noticed increasing my weapon smithing and having basic weapon grades 4 isnt giving me any better smithing options other than ancient, for both this mod and the dual wield knives, at what point does it increase?

Bruh. You try effectively using a sword while you have 7 inch blades attached to both of you hands. They're meant to augment martial arts, it would be busted if it let you use a weapon normally. Besides, why are you complaining, they make training attack EXTREMELY easy.

Wanted to make a claw mod some day so at least I can help you perfect yours :D.
Just test it well cause any missing stuff can crash the game. Weapon slot wasn't mean't for armors ^^

@Sudo Modding : There is indeed one example, https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1399461775 . It's a shield mod, but the same concept applies, it's an armor (aka "clothing" item, tied to primary weapon slot).
And I actually used it as a test, it works.

However, there are rules/contraints for this specific case to work:
You have to add in the modfiles the .material created when you export as a mesh, or it will crash.
You have to use the primary weapon slot, preferably an at least 4 or 5 width and 2 height icon size. Or it will crash.
You can sell it, you can craft it, but you can't spawn it on npc. Not because it would crash, but because they just don't spawn as for belt items.

I think nobody found a way to make weapons behave like fist, except for the belt slot "trick". In the game code it's more a piece of armor around the hand which boost martial art. By the way nice work as always

@Skharr Turis: nope. You can set an armor on weapon slot, it has some specific rules though.
You can also use martial arts for an actual weapon.

while martial arts is a struggle early on, it's one of the most OP combat styles once you get caught up to everyone else. my main apprehension in subscribing to these sick knuckles and katars and whatnot is what properties the weapons actually add. martial arts already has beeg number, does it just change damage type? give bonuses to hit/defense?

if you use it for the weapon slot, then it count the weapon skill, not martial skill

did you know you can also use the weapon slot for it ^^ ? Still have the problem of spawning as for belt slot though, but you could have the claws and the lantern of radiance, and you can't go in fogland without it human
