Make sure you are using the community edition of the game. Most mods no longer work without it
SPotato 9. nov. 2024 kl. 20:00
I am also getting the same problem which also affects the drive shaft. There was a clue that I saw which might help if it has not already been stated. Although it could also just be something that started happening recently.

When I try to load the game I get this error message """

The following list of mods are not compatible with your game version. Would you like to load them anyway?

PAX Scripts

Loading the world with these mods may result in unpredictable behavior and the world may not load at all. Do you want to try loading the world anyway?

"""

Hope this helps.

Im also not able to get the ropes to loop.
The pulleys show in game but when i connect them i only get a single rope instead of the double looped rope.

In the logs i find the compilation of the mod failed due to "Error: The type or namespace name 'SteamPower' does not exist in the namespace" and a non mountable point error

You can post it in the keen discord modding-medieval channel, or send to me directly (Sir_Moodz#7763)
or put it somewhere where you can place a link here
jeffreyvg 26. aug. 2022 kl. 15:58
well idk how to find any problems in it so whats the best way to send it to you?
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 26. aug. 2022 kl. 13:05
Then the script has likely failed to load. Look through your log for any hints, or send me your log
jeffreyvg 26. aug. 2022 kl. 9:03
no the rope stays but it doesent do the loopy thing its just a straight rope and no the only mods im using is equinox core, pulleys (rope belts), remote rope control component, steam engines, conveyers and pipes, more catch blocks and pistons, more minerals, balloons, metal armour materials, and additional item tags
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 26. aug. 2022 kl. 7:30
Did you add any new mods?
Does the rope disappear after you connect it?
jeffreyvg 26. aug. 2022 kl. 1:38
idk if its just me or some mods not functioning together but all of a suddon the pulleys and drive shafts dont want to connect after i attach a rope

Other option is for someone to make a copy of the mod with just a tiny change in the code that makes it no longer require the engine dependency
Hektor Riven 18. aug. 2022 kl. 12:22
This assumes that a dedicated server is used since, by what I know, playing in singleplayer by hosting a game via client forces any dependency to be loaded, and this includes your huge "Conveyors and Pipes" mod which, actually, among the other things, it adds ammo belts, a radiator for diesel engines and lights for refining machineries.
Hopefully what's written in the Community Edition roadmap will add a simpler version of the pulleys, otherwise one would have to download such a gigant modpack that has so many elements far from being medieval.
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 18. aug. 2022 kl. 11:42
You can make a mod yourself that disables the crafting recipes for the steam engines. This is how other servers have done it
Hektor Riven 18. aug. 2022 kl. 10:53
I've read somewhere in the roadmap of the Community Edition that pulleys may be added in a further update.
Shady One 18. aug. 2022 kl. 3:48
Is it possible to upload separately "cut" version with only pulley, incompatible with steam engines, for medieval servers only?
Hektor Riven 20. juni 2022 kl. 14:21
Sadly that's exactly what I'm working on for so many components included in your mods, unfortunately everything is linked and the options for server owners are either to completely transform Medieval Engineers into a game set in a modern world or to stay vanilla even without the most essential functions like pulleys.
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 20. juni 2022 kl. 11:48
Your not forced to use them. If on a server you can make an overwrite mod that disables crafting recipes
Terradus 19. juni 2022 kl. 5:51
@peaceman
ok but why i can do if i wnt this mod but not want steam engines, i not want conweyors, i not want automated factories and other steam logic (all this will be exist in world if you add "Pulleys" mod)
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 16. jan. 2022 kl. 5:17
The dependency for steam engines is because of the update order of the scripts. For the pulleys to work correctly the code needs to be executed after the engine.
The steam engine mod has dependency for the conveyor and pipes mod because it uses the liquid system that it has, and so the list goes on and on :D
Myst Leissa 15. jan. 2022 kl. 23:28
Why does a simple rope pulley need a steam engine mod, and why does a steam engine mod need a thousand other mods?
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 24. maj 2021 kl. 12:39
They can be crafted in the crafting table and don't require any research. Its called "Wooden Pulley"
babylon218 24. maj 2021 kl. 4:16
Hi, love this mod. I've got a problem though. I'm playing in survival mode and trying to build a small crane for my mill, and I can't find where to craft the wooden pulley in the inventory, crafting table, or forge. I also can't see it locked behind any of the techs and I'm able to build the metal pulleys.
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 11. feb. 2021 kl. 13:39
added it
kcs123 11. feb. 2021 kl. 13:33
Onca77 quote: "If you make the pulley connections twice (so that three ropes are visible instead of two) the connections will be saved in the blueprint."

It would be nice to add this in mod description, I doubt that many, especially new players know about it. Info might be lost in comments quickly.

Small bug with size 2 pulley. It have 16 mount point(same as size 4 pulley) instead of 4. That can cause sclose loop crashes where should not. Size 2 train pulley works properly.
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 21. dec. 2020 kl. 16:12
0.2 ? we are on 0.7 now lol
ManualMagic 21. dec. 2020 kl. 14:50
thank you for this great mod guys, can you make the same mod for 0.2.70 version? is not posible play with it in that version
TankC Le Goulu 5. nov. 2020 kl. 5:51
Best mod I ever seen !:tinder::sutmm:
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 22. maj 2020 kl. 11:49
Mod has been updated with "drive shafts"
They can be used and work like the regular rope belts but transfer the rotation forwards instead of sideways
Thunderbolt 14. maj 2020 kl. 19:13
I have been waiting for a mod like this. Setting them up in vanilla is a pain.
Rudi 1. maj 2020 kl. 3:44
thanks
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 28. apr. 2020 kl. 10:16
not sure why it won't connect. I also had this with other blocks. But it seems like you found a way then. I also just try all possible ways until it finally does connect.
About the reverse. I had reports about this. Not sure what is going on. But because the pulley system only reacts to changes from the physics engine there will always be certain problems/limitations. For the physics engine the grids are not connected at all. The pulley only tries to make them in sync/connected but in certain scenarios especially when lots of energy is involved it could go wrong
Dariorthan 28. apr. 2020 kl. 6:39
at the marked line the axis is disconnected. it only snaps together if i place the pulley last. also as an additional issue ive discovered that sometimes the pulley transmits the power in reverse. for example in that setup the front wheels were going forwards while the back wheels where going backwards, even though they were connected to the same axis
Dariorthan 28. apr. 2020 kl. 6:36
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 28. apr. 2020 kl. 4:56
maybe add a screenshot, I don't know how the setup looks like and what could be going wrong
Dariorthan 28. apr. 2020 kl. 1:31
i have a bit of an issue with this. i have an axis with two pulley blocks in the middle and im trying to connect that axis to another catch block, but the subgrids wont snap together. i have tested it without the pulley blocks and then it worked fine
Oldru_Vallière 23. apr. 2020 kl. 14:31
so it is still connected just without the rope texture between them, even if i'm able to connect another rope between them?
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 23. apr. 2020 kl. 14:11
yes it deleted the rope. the rope is required to make the connection but is then removed
Oldru_Vallière 23. apr. 2020 kl. 13:25
having a wired issue where i put a rope on 2 pulleys and it deletes the rope,

i'm trying to build a elevator for a mine. a screenshot can be found in my profile if that helps
DeVOID 23. apr. 2020 kl. 4:05
Imagine that, we could have gearboxes
peaceman  [ophavsmand] 22. apr. 2020 kl. 14:10
will be added in the future
Plin 22. apr. 2020 kl. 14:01
Great mod! Is it possible to add controllable pulley or pulley with clutch?
Shilica 22. apr. 2020 kl. 6:42
noice
Skallabjorn 21. apr. 2020 kl. 14:19
