I know and in the show the whole colony drop was planned on being dropped on the federation command center deep in south america under massive tonnage of dirt for protection. the plan required murdering everyone inside of colony 3 by chemical gas and then direct it to the location to drop it.

of course that failed with a 3rd falling on sydney and permintlly scaring australia leaving that scar and extra. another 3rd broke apart and rained debree all over north america and the last bit landing in to the pacific causing massive tidlewaves and more to devestate the coasts around the world.

god knows what would had happened if they suceeded in dropping it on there target with the whole thing intact the massive damage that would cause even with it so close to the fault lines to.
