So will this be bad for FPS?
Quentilius  [author] Sep 5 @ 12:27pm
@ShockPuppet thx for your feedback !
i will take a look at this issue
ShockPuppet May 28 @ 11:10pm
hello this mod is working well.

i noticed 1 minor issue only. artillery ships, such as greek ballista, when set to normal ammo (not flaming) will appear to shoot the flaming ball and it has smoke trail, instead of shooting the plain rock. Or is that an intended feature?

Thanks to this mod I can Enjoy this game again. Amazing work Thank you.

LOD in Strategos is awesome btw
Quentilius  [author] Apr 22 @ 3:20pm
I put comparison screenshots of the same historical battle (carthago battle)
You can see the difference on horses models pretty well:
On the left they lose they all look the same and on the right they have different colors
On roman infantry units it's more subbtle and you will see more differences with celtic factions for example
Quentilius  [author] Apr 22 @ 3:01pm
Hello @Spica can you explain a bit more the issue you are facing
I just tested the mod and it is working as expected
I will put some screenshots in the description to show exactly what to expect from it
Spica Apr 17 @ 12:43pm
hello, the mod is not working also the Attila one stopped working as well
Quentilius  [author] Jan 30 @ 3:10pm
yes i know it is really annoying
i tried to find a way, but it is not working for now
maybe one day me or someone else will find a way
Typhoon Jan 19 @ 2:37am
it works, now i wonder if you could do the same with the shadows, because it is also annoying to see in distance

Hi, this mod doesn't seem to be working after the 6.22.2023 update.
Quentilius  [author] Nov 23, 2024 @ 3:37am
it does, it is not as noticeable as the one i made on warhamer total war for example, but it does improve unit details on distance
Switching Doom Nov 21, 2024 @ 1:28pm
Does this work i cant tell tbh
Sub-G Feb 15, 2024 @ 4:13am
Muito bom.
ancien cheval de guerre ⳩ Nov 7, 2023 @ 4:34am
A few youtubers seem to be in touch with devs these days. Perhaps it is possible they will tell us.
Quentilius  [author] Nov 7, 2023 @ 4:08am
sadly i think it will probably not be possible
yes maybe if some developer from ca would tell us it would be easier ;)
ancien cheval de guerre ⳩ Oct 27, 2023 @ 3:48pm
Do you think it might be possible to stop the game removing actual levels of detail at distance in the future? I wonder if the original CA coders would be willing to tell how.
Quentilius  [author] Oct 27, 2023 @ 9:40am
I think it would be easy to do it on ToB (same as rome and attila), but sadly i don't own the game
For shogun 2, i already tried some things on it, but nothing worked for now (data files are really different from rome and attila so it can't be done the same way)
ProctorU Oct 25, 2023 @ 8:18pm
Great mod! I know you updated the Atilla version but is it possible to achieve the same effect with Shogun 2 or ToB? Been trying to mod it myself but could only do it on static meshes
Quentilius  [author] Oct 22, 2023 @ 12:27pm
Thank you for your support ! I am glad it makes the game better for you
ancien cheval de guerre ⳩ Oct 22, 2023 @ 5:39am
I think you may have cracked it and made it at least playable for me now. Thanks very much. I can generally make units out at reasonable distances now because they actually look solid instead of flat against the terrain blended in because they are full of holes. :)
Dizzy Ioeuy Oct 21, 2023 @ 2:17pm
Nice update, ty!!!
Quentilius  [author] Oct 21, 2023 @ 12:04pm
You can better see the difference between with and without the mod on cavalry units
Quentilius  [author] Oct 21, 2023 @ 11:53am
Hello everyone, i just updated this mod with an improvement on units lod
you still lose details in distance, but now the game keep using the same unit models even when the unit is far from the camera
The result is much better in my opinion: the units on the battlefield don't seem to become all the same when you zoom out anymore
ancien cheval de guerre ⳩ Sep 30, 2023 @ 3:40pm
Thx for this. Really need a unit LOD remover. Have not been able to play rome2 since an early release patch ruined LOD and doomed us to look at flags instead of units ion battles, ruining enjoyment of the spectacle of battle.
I appreciate your efforts. 5 pixel Sprites in a total war game... would have preferred lower fidelity units animations or skins than basically removing units from the game by LODing them to black shimmering blobs or pixel sliding men.
AstroCat Jan 30, 2023 @ 2:56pm
This still working with DEI 1.3.2 beta?
天使 Mar 7, 2021 @ 7:28pm
oooooo!!! ok ok, thanks for reply!
Quentilius  [author] Mar 7, 2021 @ 2:46pm
@Enkeli just to remind, this is only removing lod of trees buildings equipements and ships not lod of units
Quentilius  [author] Mar 7, 2021 @ 2:45pm
@Parallax
sorry for late reply
in fact if you want to remove unit lod from the game, you need to modify the 3d models themselves, but i don't have any tool to do so right now
天使 Oct 29, 2020 @ 11:53pm
Dont work for me :c
Pei Aug 5, 2020 @ 2:25pm
Alright looking through that table it seems it's only building stuff, and for some reason arrows and pila and such, but nothing about unit detail themselves.
Pei Aug 5, 2020 @ 2:12pm
Hmm... Have you looked through warscape_rigid_lod_tables? I was trying to figure out how to run the game on very high unit detail without the ghoul faces, and I also found the two tables in the data_rome2.pack. Looking at your mod it edits only the warscape_rigid_lod_range
_tables. All of them seem to have their own range settings as well. I'm not sure how these two range settings are supposed to work together, I'll look further into it. Maybe you take a look at it as well?
Bushos Jul 18, 2020 @ 1:38pm
what is lod models?
AkaalElite May 8, 2020 @ 9:44pm
Thanks mate, Now i know exactly what to look for
Quentilius  [author] May 8, 2020 @ 11:37am
Right i will delete these comments
At the time i thought the modifications i did impacted units too, but i was wrong

So for both Attila and Rome 2 the lod remover works only for trees buildings and equipements
AkaalElite May 7, 2020 @ 6:44pm
Right i see. Thanks for clarifying. So does the Attila Lod Remover also do trees etc, or the units only. There seems to be comments on the mod which are conflicting the mod discription. Can you please clarify?
Quentilius  [author] May 7, 2020 @ 4:12pm
It's not the same datas as Warhammer 2 sadly
Quentilius  [author] May 7, 2020 @ 4:11pm
Yes this is because it only removes lod on trees, buildings and equipements not units themselves
I tried to find a way to remove lod on units aswell but it seems to be quite hard to do
AkaalElite May 1, 2020 @ 11:49pm
The one you uploaded for Warhammer 2 is working very well but i see no difference in this one? same for Atilla i see now difference?
TotalVictori Apr 22, 2020 @ 9:30am
Yeah man at least you owned up man
Quentilius  [author] Apr 21, 2020 @ 5:37am
Ok i went a bit to fast on this one
what my mod actually does is removing lod on buildings and trees and on some of units equipements only
sorry for putting wrong description about this mod
Quentilius  [author] Apr 21, 2020 @ 5:20am
I will check this
TotalVictori Apr 20, 2020 @ 11:52am
Fix the mod guy no change
Ampyr Apr 20, 2020 @ 10:06am
Not noticing a difference either.
Tactical Kebab Apr 17, 2020 @ 10:02am
Yep i just tested the one you made for 3k and it works flawlessly good job, but this one doesn't work at all for me
Tactical Kebab Apr 17, 2020 @ 8:58am
Hi, is it supposed to remove the units LODs? it doesn't seem to work
