The StG was the first assault rifle by virtue of the fact that the term assault rifle was invented to refer to it. Things like the Ribeyrolles, Fedorov and the Soviet prototypes (and in a way, the Mkb 42) were not called assault rifles, since the term didn't exist when they were made.
Even the MP43, which is the StG44 with another designation, was considered an SMG or a carbine.

@kiwi14 A lot of the big powers of 1940s had supressors and low level optics (red dot styled, not scoped style)

i haven't seen pictures of that but the kar98k did also have a suppressed version believe it or not, so the stg 44 if it was going to be similar to the kar98k, it would need that BUT nonetheless its probably just suppressed for stealth.

I understand its a early assault rifle but its still a 7.92 round for smaller which means it packs a lot of punch still so why is it 3 shots and not 2?
