It dawned on me that I just need to spoof the Crude Bucket recipe on the Materializer instead of depending on the existing game one. All 3 difficulties should be playable once again :cozyteddymoo:

Hey everyone. I've pushed a new version that should resolve the issue with the disappearing recipes.

The Crude Bucket recipe on the Materializer currently only shows up in Settlement and Enlightenment after you unlock the Lvl 1 Storage research aka when it unlocks on the Crude Workbench. Due to this Hard (and possibly Medium) are still blocked. I'm currently pondering how to unblock them.

@AsmodeusUltima, the way i fixed it was changing the durability in the options setting. I figured that might update the item Objects and it worked lol. They may disappear once again but each time I change the durability they come back.

Aw, sad to see this mod was never fixed. Just tried a Hard world and got up to the point of building the Materializer, and, just like those before me, found that the only available recipe was a stone for 3x turf and a stick. Needless to say that makes the map unplayable. :(

Hey, just want to make a little bug report, everything starts off and runs fine but occasionally after some time the Materializer recipes will break and it only has stone as an option. Restarting the game does fix it, but has gone at random points both while using it continuously for buckets as well as when not in use, although I'm not sure of the exact conditions it has broken.

I was able to finish enlightenment today with this mod set on easy. Such a great addition, thank you for making it! Anyway I can support the developer? This is one of my favorite games and it gave me the joy of playing it again.

I played enlightenment with this mod all the way to metal making. Unfortunately, I can not figure out how to make bullrush. I made the wand just fine, but I can't find any material type that will let me use it. I went through and read the lua files and found that you needed swamp tiles to use it (which makes sense), but there is no swamp tile maker in the mod. After muttering about it, I remembered you can make swamp tiles by pouring soil or sand into a fresh water tile :facepalm:.

Great mod, still playing it!

I'm sad this mod is broken, since I loved it so much! Want to try Enlightment, but hate clearing land. This mod was perfect!

Just upgraded the materializer and it's still just showing the only thing I can make is a stone. Not sure if this is right?

BeforeLoad seems to only run at game start. If I create a world everything works correctly but If I exit the world and then reload the world the world is temporarily broke due to BeforeLoad not running. If I restart the game and reload the world it works again.

If I reload the working map then exit it and create a new world the new world is permanently broke and will not work correctly even If I restart the game and reload.

Hope the mod team can figure out how to fix this. I only ran on hard mode and only tested the functionality of Materializer to see if the world was broke but I also noticed that the increased Turf drop rate did not appear to increase in the broken world. I will try testing the Regurgitater on the easy map but I suspect if one is broke both are.

After seeing that Ydyp got the mod to work I when back and did some testing and I believe I have found the problem. It is an old bug that I ran into when I first tried modding. I call it the BeforeLoad bug. BeforeLoad does not always run when it is suppose to run according to the docs.

If the mod is active when the game first start it runs as it is suppose to and you can create a working world. But if the mod is activated after start it will not run and your world will be permanently broken. You have to restart the game and create a new world to get a working one.

Ok just started up a new save with medium settings, and then everything shows up in The Materializer: bucket, stone, turf and some various wands. On Hard only the Stone recipe showed up. Haven't checked The Regurgitater yet.

Also noticed that The Reurgitater doesn't show any recipes either when not upgraded, but since I can't build bots I can't get to the stage of upgrading on Hard. Will check with lower difficulty, and get back to you.

I've double checked the change log and the mod docs, the code I'm using to unlock the Crude Bucket should not have changed in v140. Currently working with the mod team to figure out why it's no longer working as expected.

Is that the only thing broken?

Yup seems last update changed the bucket so it isn't showing up to craft in The Materializer. So hard is now impossible as you don't have enough space to unlock the better workbench to craft those buckets.

I've gone ahead and pushed an update that will allow you to customize the wand durability via the mod settings.

I didn't enable functionality to do so in game as it was a design choice to have each wand be single use instead of just needing one of each. The Lua files do currently set the durability of the wands to 1; therefore, it could be changed there. I'll think about adding it to the mod settings if I find some time.

Loving this mod! Wondering if its possible to edit the tool durability. I tried to by editing the Lua files... didn't work =(

Crude Gears aren't unlocked at the start of the base game either. You need more robots if they aren't unlocked yet. iirc, it's 10 robots and 3 bot teams.

i think I am stuck...the colonist seed dispenser requires crude gears, which are not unlocked from the start it seems.
How does one progress past that very early stage?

You can "edit" the map using the wands. Or, you can create your own mod to do the map editing. There's no out of the box in game way to do it beyond picking a starting seed afaik

Most of them are single use; water / turf being the exceptions. After crafting, right click on the tile that you want to turn into the type specified by the wand. For example, a clay wand will create a clay tile.

@ejcreeper: Start a new game with the mod enabled and it should make the map for you based on the difficulty you selected in Mod Options

@Purity: I agree. I'm looking to move the turf wand down from being an end game perk. I'm also looking into adding wands for all of the water types to help with fishing. I've been holding off releasing until some of the recent mod fixes make it out of beta and into live.

I am really enjoying the mod so far i don't understand though that this mod has less downloads then autoblock because with autoblock you get stuck after a certain point because u cant get clay etc but with this mod you can and i like it a lot i have one concern though you should maybe make it so you unlock the turf wand earlier because at the materializer level 5 is a bit high maybe 4 or 3 so u can restore land if u misplaced or just generally want to remove it but i don't have any other complains really fun mod if i like the grind and like starting at the bare minimum

You can make additional land by using the bucket to add soil to the shallow water tile 3 times which turns it to a swamp tile and all of the surrounding deep water tiles to shallow water. Add soil to the swamp tile 3 times and it will become a soil tile.

Thankyou. Haven't gotten to that point yet. Oh, I found the flowers wand confusing, until I realized it was for Wild Flowers. Kept looking through the book for something to make wild flowers with, so I could get roses. I'd suggest renaming the basic wand to "Wild Flower Wand" to make it clearer.

Agreed, that's why there is a turf wand at the end. It should work on all deposits.

Can you add a wand that can be used on deposits to turn them back into soil? That way you don't have to forever commit each time you place a deposit.

I got a chance to check it out. Perfect! I like that you chose the variant that's almost as big as the starting island. I was happy to have him but was already looking forward to getting to a point that I could make the same grade of bots with the default or smaller variant which is cool. Oh, and calling him "Wilson"... priceless! nice touch. Maybe that's what you were going for with the big round bot variant. ;-)

One way to do it using your approach to the wand crafting is to provide the ability to craft only one bot at the start. The only problem with that thought is the bot assembly and building bench cannot be made to break after one use as only tools have a durability variable. If you wanted to create a modified bot building bench that required fuel like a lump of coal you spawned at the start then the bench would only work enough to build a bot and then could not be refueled until later in progression when the coal wand was available. ... or just wait until devs fix the bug that keep you from spawning bots at the start ;-)
(My idea also breaks the intent or spirit of the challenge where you have nothing more than sticks and stones to begin growing your automated civilization. Sticks, Stones, and a one use bot building workstation sounds like someone violated the prime directive *Trek Nerd reference*)

Awesome. Thanks for the quick turn around.

An idea that I would love to see in this mod or variant of the mod is to have an option to start with at least one Mk2 robot (possibly a variant so it stands out). Not sure if that is even possible to have such a thing spawn in on a new map. It could be associated with the difficulty level but I would love to take on the hardest level on my minimal island just me and my bot. It would take out some of the tedium needed to get started. I could set the bot to digging and replanting turf or digging holes for new trees while I worked either along side it or on another task. Maybe its a different mod "From Scratch +1". Thanks for the consideration. If you did nothing I would still love the mod and the mechanics. You did a great job of balancing which I have to guess is the hardest part of such a development.

Opps, I forgot that you needed a Rich Stone Deposit rather than just a Stone Deposit to mine the Crude Stone from. :steamfacepalm: I've added a Hard Rock Mass wand to allow obtaining Crude Stone before getting the metal pick.

Great mod. I had to restart as I learned which order to craft things. Nice challenge.
I've hit a snag that maybe I am missing. There is no way to get Crude Stone (boulders). The wiki says that with a chisel I can harvest Crude Stone from Rich Stone Deposits but the stone wand only creates regular stone deposits. I can convert a regular stone deposit into a rich deposit with a crude metal pick however I cannot craft the metal wand without a crude stone... This circular dependency is either a miss in the mod dev or I am overlooking something obvious.. my guess is that it]s the latter and I'm being as dense as a Crude Stone.

Good catch! I forgot to add a log to the initial Hard spawned items. I just pushed an update to correct this. Having 2 logs gives you enough mats to build the Workbench which gives you access to build a Spade to use on the tree stump.
