Just tested today this mod is working on v316.17 2025-08-31. I used the example ini to add getting salt and sand from stone in the GameUserSettings.ini under a new [CustomHarvesting] I added. Hope to test more next play session with friends. Thanks!

I really hope mod support gets sorted out soon.
After the recent update, most of the mods I use are now broken. My server crashes during startup or when loading assets, and it's clearly related to mods not being updated for the latest version. I've tested with a clean setup, and multiple mods are affected.

If any mod authors see this—thank you for everything you’ve created. I understand this situation isn’t your fault, and that you're likely waiting on DevKit updates or dealing with unexpected issues.

If possible, I hope you’ll consider at least recooking or republishing the mod, even with no new changes, just so it can stay usable for the community moving forward. Many of us still rely on your work and would love to continue using it.

Hi, really thanks for your mod, I have one question here,
Every function is fine in my server, but I could not use harvester from S+ to get what I have stetted in the ini file. I mean, I could get black pearl while I mine the metal with my char, but my harvester couldn't done the same thing, is there anything I need to be aware of?

This mod replaces the components that are responsible for harvesting. As such, it isnt compatible with mods that do the same thing. Likely one or both of those mods you listed is likely doing that.

As for removing resources, no. It was designed to augment harvesting, not totally replace it.

I just figured, when using "The Hunted" some of the preset vanilla components do not work. In your "Custom Dino Loot" mod you allow setting up loot drops by searching for string variants(*hesperonis*, *para* etc.), could something like that be done with "Custom Harvesting" as well? As far as I checked "The Hunted" keeps the same naming convention, only adding "DA_" as pre tag. So "CrystalHarvestComponent_C" becomes "DA_CrystalHarvestComponent_C". As far as I understand all of the resources are replaced by "The Hunted", as I haven't found one that works like vanilla.

Also, it may very well be that the mod "Island Extension: Resources" is causing the issue, since it customizes the name of Crystal to distribute it across The Island. Issue could be solved the same way using string tagging.

Also, also, can we actually use "Custom Harvesting" to make some vanilla elements never show up on harvesting?

@rooibaard86 Add this code at the bottom of your GameUserSettings.ini file:

[CustomHarvesting]
Metal=1.0,/Game/Extinction/CoreBlueprints/Resources/PrimalItemResource_ElementDust.PrimalItemResource_ElementDust

This code gives you 1 Element Dust for each 1 Metal you harvest from metal nodes.

This remaps harvesting comps and only harvesting comps. It doesnt touch weapons, items, tools, etc, to any degree.

Hey Quell, I'm getting an issue on my Kanga Hunted server when this is installed. When certain tools break, they give all sorts of whacky resources to me based on what I configured for this mod. :steamfacepalm: They don't normally give anything upon breaking. I know I'm running a few mods that touch harvest components, loaded before as well as after this mod. Mainly this happens when I make Kanga's Gravel drop from Stone and StoneRiver. It's been happening for quite awhilw, just came back from taking a long break from ARK. :pengwing:

@Plastic Puppet I will likely, over time, make any previous mods for ASA, assuming it makes sense. Something like HLNA will not be reintroduced(or introduced at all maybe), until it's a system once again in ASA.

I got it by going into the folder since I know the games goes to the folder where that file is at lol.
But yeah, it's the cactus sap I wanted, I don't know why I didn't think of the word sap being with it.

The wiki has spawn codes for all items in the game. No idea where you got "Game/ScorchedEarth/CoreBlueprints/HarvestComponents/" from lol

Im assuming you went cactus sap?

How would I got about adding Cactus to bushes? What I have right now is:

Bushes=2.0,0.50,Game/ScorchedEarth/CoreBlueprints/HarvestComponents/

I looked inside the scorched earth resource folder and do not see cactus in there so I'm guessing I have to path the directory to the harvestcomponents folder. Do I just add Cactus at the end of the line I just posted?

Correction. Now everything has started to be extracted from crystals. Perhaps you have made amendments to this mod? Perhaps the map has changed somehow? Now the crystals are working

You can add them to any component entry I created, sure. ie: Stone or Cactus.

@Just a Gamer Could be your version of what "lunar stone" is and the game's are different. There's a harvesting component called "LunarCaveStoneHarvestComponent_LowHealth" and "LunarStoneHarvestComponent" and a few others. I replaced them with custom ones and marked them as "lunar stone". Which ones those are in game, Im not sure. I've honestly never played genesis.

@Niya Singleplayer, dedi, doesn't matter. Works on all maps, ish. If a map uses some really custom harvest components, maybe not 100% functional for that map. Pretty rare though I'd say.

sure you aware of this but some attacks from a creature like a maewing or mammoth for example the bushes dont break and can gather infinite of what ever in the config for bushes. but other then that its solid. can set up cross style maps on any map.

@Jeffrey C Drywater Without diving into the technicals, there are lots of harvestables that can not be edited in the way this mod was designed. Pretty sure this is one such case. At some point I will add any missing harvestables if/when I find them. By and large though, the mod still works wonderfully and you can always stick any missing resources into other harvestables and just adjust the rates to compensate.

I am certain that you have long since moved on from this fantastic mod, but, if by chance you have not, I would so very much appreciate you adding either the big desert stones (that you harvest with a pick) or the desert rocks you pick up. If you do or if you don't, I appreciate your work either way and shall not pester you any further... Probably.
