tried to find contagious diseases but found this, i appreciate finding old ass mods like this since it reminds me that modding has been a integral feature of rimworld as a whole, and how the earliest betas had some mods for them.

Can you please tell me if STI can be caught by random chance, without previous exposure.
Thanks!

Compatibility with Apothecary Scar cream to cure skin rash and minor STD. (PDF updated).

Woops, sorry! I don't know how I scrolled past that part of the description.

Thanks!

@brightsideguy

Adds symptomatic common ailments to more severe conditions. (Details in above PDF notes).
brightsideguy 9. maj 2020 kl. 12:20
In the mod options, what does it mean exactly for severe illnesses to use "common ailments as symptoms"?
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 2. maj 2020 kl. 21:06
Will consider the analysis/corrections/suggestions when there is time available to do so. Further details why on my Discord channel.
ЯEБAЛ 15. apr. 2020 kl. 12:38
Got the issue that if I uninstall mod on ongoing saved game my pawns need bars freeze - mood dont go up or down, they dont get rest from sleep, all the bars just stay the same forever, you can change them by giving pawns drugs but it will stay that way.
I forbid common aliments in settings and let it run this way a very long time, I even tried Immunities Reset mod, still cant seem to get CA off my list, just have to play with it active but turned off.:steamsad:

The ailments are all regular hediffs so I would think that they could readily be applied to the code that it uses within the spell. One to discuss with the author of RoM.
Hugs 4. apr. 2020 kl. 14:15
Is there potential to make this compatible with Rimworld of Magic? There's a cure disease spell in particular that levelable, it might be nice to add some of these to the pool of things that can be cured/reduced with enough skill.

Pelador  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2020 kl. 9:18
@Kyrox

All the tendable maladies in this mod are recognised as "not bad" and the stages are recognised as not life threatening. Perhaps see if this is sufficient information for fluffy to account for them.

Otherwise all the hediffs start with "CA_" which would be another way for fluffy to identify them. But I know the wise cat likes to use generic rules to formulate his code rather than use specifics.
Kyrox 22. mar. 2020 kl. 8:56
Can you make this compatible with Pharmacist?
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 21. mar. 2020 kl. 22:07
@Update @Karax

Added Phantom pain as a common ailment. This may occur with a low chance (about twice the base chance with modifiers) when a pawn has a solid body part or augmentation added.

Also applies the harmony dependency.
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 14. mar. 2020 kl. 3:00
@jonathan1237

I haven"t tried it personally. But if the same vanilla infections and diseases are maintained and used then CA will likely operate normally with it, though cannot say for certain. Nor can I say how the alternative carrier mecanism or illness generation effects bslance or the game dynamics.

I'd be interested to know any findings however.
Snowy1237 14. mar. 2020 kl. 2:38
Is the mod compatible with Communicable Diseases?
NoNameWorks 3. mar. 2020 kl. 17:39
Ah, thankyou.
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 3. mar. 2020 kl. 17:00
@REEEE.org

If you remove the selection for using negative health sounds in the mod options it will be replaced with a neutral beep.
NoNameWorks 3. mar. 2020 kl. 16:22
It's a minor inconvenience, and doesn't really matter, but it does get a little annoying.
NoNameWorks 3. mar. 2020 kl. 16:20
I love the mod, as it adds a bit more realism. Keeps every alert from being "do something before this colonist dies!", but I got to say it gets annoying with more then 5 colonists. I just hear "Beep-Beep" like something dangerous is gonna happen every time a colonist gets a headache. Any way you can maybe change the sound for the pop-up for less severe things?
cheetome 27. feb. 2020 kl. 20:10
thanks so much =)
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 27. feb. 2020 kl. 18:40
@Update

Change to the initial chance for contraction of STDs. This will be less likely to occur for the initial contraction. But having sexual intercourse with an already infected partner will of course result in a more likely chance.
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 27. feb. 2020 kl. 17:44
@cheetone

Using condoms isn't "cheating" that is a part of the reason why condoms are used IRL also. They are there to protect from sexually transferred infection as well as act as a birth control item.

@Draylynn

Currently testing a revised probability calculation, with a heavy bias against initial contraction for STDs.
cheetome 27. feb. 2020 kl. 15:04
it was doing that to me too and thats why i cheated in the condoms. but not a solution for people that dont want to cheat on the game.
Draylynn 27. feb. 2020 kl. 10:05
@Pelador I'm not talking about this being a minor inconvenience, this happens constantly (almost every night), the controls don't seem able to curb it enough. It's completely un-managable early game if you don't have any condoms, it's incredibly unrealistic or balanced.
There's raising the difficulty... Then there's this.
cheetome 27. feb. 2020 kl. 9:56
my solution was to cheat and stack a bunch of condoms around and they dont get stds now.
DeadMechGaming 27. feb. 2020 kl. 7:20
I have to agree with Draylynn on the STD's part. It seems to happen every single night with my couples. It's like an AID's epidemic.
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 27. feb. 2020 kl. 6:30
@Draylynn

I know from personal experience it is possible to find a manageable experience with this mod. But the intention is to raise the difficulty with how you manage ailments slightly.
Draylynn 27. feb. 2020 kl. 3:21
Even with controls to change the rate of catching aliments on minimum, my colonists are catching stuff extremely frequently, especially STD's. I can't play the game like this. My medical stocks are constantly empty.
cheetome 26. feb. 2020 kl. 8:28
got it, thanks =)
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 26. feb. 2020 kl. 8:24
cheetome 26. feb. 2020 kl. 8:19
oh condoms are a nice add! i havent fully seen all the medical things in the mod, as you can tell lol. thanks for answering back.:steamhappy:
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 26. feb. 2020 kl. 8:06
@Karax

I really like this idea. You could register it in the CA channel on my discord so that I don't forget it. But I don't think I will. ;)
Pelador  [ophavsmand] 26. feb. 2020 kl. 8:04
@cheetome

No initial contraction of an std, can come about from an infection from an initial sexual contact.

There are mod options to tailor the std behaviour and/or toggle it on/off.

There are also condoms available with Medical supplements.
Karax 26. feb. 2020 kl. 8:03
Hi, could you add temporary conditions like "itchy" , "phantom pain" etc. after prosthetic implant? So replacing all limbs at once will have severe mood/immunology/... response, but single body part improvement will not be so bad. I would really like to have such mod.
cheetome 26. feb. 2020 kl. 7:24
i have a colonist that wants to sleep with her boyfriend and every time i let them in the same bed she gives him an std. pretty funny but annoying that it happens because when i separate them and they have no illness or disease and then let them sleep together again, they get infected with the std again. is it a bug?
Wortzenhein 23. feb. 2020 kl. 12:53
Huh, thanks! That'll do!
lloki 23. feb. 2020 kl. 3:25
@Wortzenhein, but there are already such mods. For example: https://psteamcommunity.yuanyoumao.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1261511017 . Not 1.1 yet though, but still :)
