ANd they are overly profitable due to being fast and light. Could you please make an option so they are in par with vanilla wagons of the same era and capacity, thus going at 50 kmh and weighing 10 tons?

Has anything you changed that could cause this? I used both wagons and assets from this mod last time I played the game
All of the placeable assets have also been slightly adjusted to that they line up slightly better as well.
Unfortunately it's because of the fact that it doesn't have any cargo that it doesn't show up in any of the refined searches (aside from searching by name or letter). This is an issue that's existed since TpF1 IIRC and it's just a kind of annoying quirk that can't be avoided :P
The Generic British Brake Van does not appear in the Generic British Open Wagon group, nor 'all wagons' but only if you select all depot option (locos, wagons, etc.)
