Many of those characters don't match visually with the game's artstyle and aesthetic. Compare kirby with any of the game's original cast and you'll see just how much he stands out.

so i've looked at your message and you seem to have some good questions that should be answered

- why are melee's top tiers in here?
fox is a very well made character by ravyn both in terms of art and polish, the character also has adjusted to fit rivals and isn't as dominant as he was in melee

- will y'all add meme characters
we're trying to remain somewhat professional but characters like bird guy have got in so maybe we will

- why is zetta gone?
sai pulled zetta out of curated, maybe she'll come back, maybe not

the weekly bracket is under "How can I get my character to be "Community Curated."" just click Extended Workshop discord server and it should link you to the server, there you can tune into our new challengers brackets, New Kids on the Block, and our main ExW tournaments. just when you join be sure to get the competitive so you'll be notified when we do tournaments!

nominating characters isn't really how the system works, basically there is a group of people made up of competitive players and creator that agree on a few characters to go into our weekly brackets those and those characters get a shot to make it into the curated roster, i over simplified things but i hope that awnsered some questions

This list serves as a baseline for tournaments that allow workshop characters. 100% characters are not here because not only are they meme characters, they are unbalanced as hell.

this list was updated recently but we only added bluey, ash, and archen. also be sure to tune into the curated weekly bracket where characters the could join the curated roster can make their case. this week will have otto, mycolich, and fox (not 100%) as new challengers for a spot on the curated roster.

Hikaru is looking at being added actually, the list is still being updated though we're yet to add any major faces, give it a week or two and we'll have it updated for a few new characters

Kinda hoped Hikaru was here but I guess the fakie state strong attacks were a bit too strong, probably the recovery too.

To those who are asking about "Why isn't X Character in the list"
The list of characters have (mostly) been rigorously tested and have shown balance, however, the process of curation has been delayed due to the recent outbreak, we're resuming curation as is now though, so expect some more characters to get on the list

Sy opted out of the curation system voluntarily. He is not quite satisfied enough with the state of Zetta at the moment.

Most of this list was decided post-Frostbite actually. It came out recently but most of it was decided a while ago.
