The camera angle is the biggest enemy but it's still a lot of fun.

The camera angle on this mod makes this almost impossible to play
K_Ichigo-15 12. okt. 2016 kl. 18:11
I can't even load up the mod. It stays on the loading screen when the song starts. Anyone else having this problem or just me?
BitBlit 24. juni 2016 kl. 20:15
If you can manage to squish the notes closer together and play the track slower it might be more playable. Great concept though!

Tried playing with a ddr mat
Broke legs

Also, traditionally, there is no penalty for stepping when there is no arrow, only for missing arrows. And, not being able to step on other arrows while resting on an arrow is awful. I have to return to the center in between beats, making most songs unplayable on a dance pad.
It'd be really awesome to be able to ddr any song, and I know that this mod is intended for a keyboard, but would you consider making a tweaked version optimized for dance mats?

"I'm goingto be honest on this one" applies also to the other skins and mod I've reviewed , but the ones I reviewed were good until that one.
Pyroxide 28. dec. 2015 kl. 13:04
I'm going to be honest on this one.
Although this mod has a nice potential, it's just as everyone else said. It's barely playable because of the "notes" ' speed. Now, this would be acceptable if there were a lot of notes coming, but here, you can barely hit them at the perfect timing. Slow down the pace and/or try to add more notes to the board.
Lord Dake Kai 2. nov. 2015 kl. 16:19
Unplayable...too fast for the visual 'flatness' of play field.
Sorry, really wanted to like it but just can't.
Slow the speed and make it playable then it might be fun.
Looks good though, but looks aren't everythimng...

As an avid StepMania player, I have no problem with the difficulty (If you expect to first try every song, then DDR-style games are not for you). But I think there are far too few notes placed on the map, I expected a lot more of them coming. There's nothing when the extended mix plays, and there's far too few of them when the drop begins. If there's a way to add more notes (and slow down the camera a bit, looking at others), I would really appreciate it.
By the way, demonjanitor, there's an overhead camera, in skins, which basically solves the visibility problem.
demonjanitor 24. aug. 2015 kl. 13:11
Okay, don't get me wrong. It's an amazing mod. It's extremely well done. BUT. It's virtually unplayable due to the speed. Even slow songs are hard. Not to mention how you can't even see 60% of the notes. Other than that, it's a beautiful mod. 6/10 for bad execution.

Best MOD

I really like the idea, but 4 tracks are too harsh for me, even tho i play fast songs usually, i cant hit arrows in time, looks like way 2 hard. I'd like to see some variation for number of tracks (2,3 arrows-like mod, sorry if it exists and i couldnt find one) and maybe on arrow speed.

This mod is nice tho
rcmero 27. maj 2015 kl. 8:02
This mod's broken. The camera flashes like crazy. You should fix it.
Core 19. maj 2015 kl. 18:49
Very, very fun, but extremely challenging. This one's worth looking at if you like to play slow songs and pretend you have piano talent.
RikaFriedRice 6. mar. 2015 kl. 16:59
I get intense graphical bugs with this to the point that I'm risking epilepsy by using it.
Dev 24. okt. 2014 kl. 22:50
I'd love to play this with a dance pad but like others have said, there needs to be a slower speed or easier difficulty or something.
Melmoth 17. sep. 2014 kl. 1:46
I really like it, but currently its just too goddamn fast.
エビとホタテ 5. sep. 2014 kl. 10:40
You took me to heaven! great mod!
high speed! high speed! high speed!!
Coconaut 9. aug. 2014 kl. 6:24
Hi, I used the arrow model as a basis for some arrows for Tetrosurf - just wanted to thank you here.
ruefulstalker 27. juni 2014 kl. 8:59
Looks great!

Nice Try, though the track speed is WAYYYYYYYY too fast. :\
Inunah 26. dec. 2013 kl. 18:03
Could you add support for other skins? My game lags beyond belief with the neon skin so your overhead skin does too, but with a different skin it would be just fine.
Marnit 7. dec. 2013 kl. 16:35
This is unplayable...
Way too fast moving track, reduce track speed
Glyph 24. nov. 2013 kl. 9:13
I agree there needs to be a way slower mode, even if it is just an easier difficulty option. Alos I think the alternate keys should be wasd not djkf it would jet feel more natural and make more sense since most people are already used to it. Great idea though.
MEG.A.BYTE 22. nov. 2013 kl. 11:32
You really should make it slower ;)
Ash Darkfire 19. nov. 2013 kl. 5:18
I'm a very experanced [Keyboard] DDR/stepmania/ITG player and i really like the idea behind making this mod. however this trully is insianly fast, near unplayable but its still kinda fun with that given with an overhead mode too. But i really like the idea of the audiosurf topdown visuals to a DDR chart, if there were some odd way of constructing timed charts to this mod and a song or even already made simfiles, that could be awesome, but i know this is jsut a mod for Audiosurf and its probs not really possible to do such a thing without basicly modding a new DDR/SM/ITG of it. but still. Fun
NorthstarTex 15. nov. 2013 kl. 12:46
Woah baby, this goes WAY TOO FAST! I'd love to hook a DDR pad up to this, but you have it way too fast for any feet to go on this. If you can, create difficulties, have some time requirements between arrows so people just starting out on DDR could get accustomed to it. But I LOVE the concept though. You need to iron it out, slow it down, and make it more dynamic for users attuned to different difficulties.
jay 14. nov. 2013 kl. 22:05
could you make it work with controller sticks, like make use both sticks for directions since you can't go both down and up or right and left
please return my CD 12. nov. 2013 kl. 23:01
A more uniform speed would be great, preferably on the slower end of the spectrum.
Nintendork64 12. nov. 2013 kl. 20:36
Good, but goes way too fast. I simply can't react to the notes coming before they reach the indicator. Also, the visual flash isn't quick or noticeable enough.
Coconaut 11. nov. 2013 kl. 12:35
I need those arrows for Tetrosurf :D
GiovanH 11. nov. 2013 kl. 9:20
Better than Green Hill Zone.
fusecavator  [ophavsmand] 10. nov. 2013 kl. 16:30
I lightened purple, as that was definatly a problem, and added a visual effect on sucessful keypresses.

Regarding the speed, I made a 2nd version of this mod, DDR Waltz Edition, for those who want a little slower experiance.
Kleyguerth 10. nov. 2013 kl. 10:20
As others have said, this needs some speed tuning. For slow songs it's ok, even a bit too easy, but for fast songs, there's really no time to react. Also, that purple right arrow blends with the background on overhead. Anyway, loved this mod
Venithien 10. nov. 2013 kl. 6:20
The movement speed is much too high, especially on songs that are mostly red- Destati from Kingdom Hearts is a perfect example. There's absolutely no time to react. I'm really happy to see a mod like this but I would really appreciate a second version perhaps, where the speed is greatly reduced.
fusecavator  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2013 kl. 13:26
I changed the acceptable margin of error to track section +- 0.2 seconds, making it much more forgiving for when you hit the keys.
Mr. Pink 9. nov. 2013 kl. 6:29
Definately call it DDS: Dance Dance Surf!
Dopefish 8. nov. 2013 kl. 21:22
yeah slowing it down might help a lot
Cherry 8. nov. 2013 kl. 11:24
Good concept, but needs more work
I would say it should have a top-down view and lower the speed just a bit
Kaight 8. nov. 2013 kl. 4:11
DDR is copywrited. You should call it Dance Dance Audiosurf (DDA)! :P
You don't have to take it seriously, I just thought it was funny.
