As long as you deal only with cutebound you won't ever have to delete your entire universe due to a minor mistake simply because most of the modifications in cutebound are only client side. Unfortunately, changing a couple textures isn't as easy as opening a folder and changing the file. It almost is, but mods are compressed into single files with the extension ".pak" so you can't access their insides directly. I would recommend you know how to use a command prompt and look up how to find the starbound mod you want, how to unpack it, and how to repack it to that same location.

So how do I edit Cutebound to change specific sprites (i dont know how to mod and dont want to delete my entire universe in an attempt on doing so)

Probably due to priority modifications. This mod probably has a higher number priority than that mod, so it probably loads afterwards and overrides the assets from that mod. Maybe try a different novakid-reverting mod? I originally debated making a separate mod for novakids and glitches and removing them from here (since they were also controversial edits), but this is more or less a mod for friends and myself (though its also posted online for everyone else to use as well), so I didn't really bother. I might lower the priority of this mod in the future to fix this, though I can't guarantee that that will fix it.

YO I LOVE THIS MOD!!! Btw since I wanted to have my novakid character to have brand, so I installed 'make novakid a less cute race'...but it didn't work. Do you know why?
