This is getting ridiculous. Clothes do that too.
Yes, I did try to switch characters. In fact, hair flies in exactly the same spot with all of them. I have all the dependencies with the exception of Equinox Core, because its title page actually says not to subscribe to it as dependency and let the game download stuff automatically.
I haven't been playing ME for several years due to its Linux issues. I'm trying to get back into it now that it is possible with newer Proton and Community Edition.
I tried loading the mod again (and in a different world, too), but the issue stayed exactly the same. It feels as if the coordinates of the hair model are all messed up. X instead of Z etc. You know how you rotate timber when building with it? Well, the hair seems to be rotated in a similar way. A weird thought, but – could it have anything to do with what side of the planet the character is at?
