It worked reallly well on my mac computer, even though it only has about 1.6gb ram after backgound usage. But wont the full thing be released on legend of grimrock 1??

Brilliant looking foward to more. constant chainsaw noise a bit annoying and while the noise of the enemy being shot was cool it was repeted to oftern. maybe set it up so every 5th or 10th hit makes the noise. guns worked well keep up the good work :)

After Christmas holidays it's time for another update. It's 2x new video: Heretic with Bolter v1.0 and Heretic Wych with Power glove - Plasma ball caster v1.0, both in testing scene. Let me know if you like them :-)

As you can see I replaced placeholder model of Heretic (an old version is still there so you can compare them) and now monster fits into scene much better. I will only balance textures (colors etc) in final balancing, so atm it can be count as a final solution.

i like what i see, the model and animations of the chaos space marines are terrific, performancewise it was a lil bit slow on my PC, will give you my specs if you want em

also the sounds of that chaos scum was a little annoying their pain sounds are repetitive and their chainsaw sounds get annoying pretty quickly, they have a ton of health too


but i definitively want to see more, i love how you handled bolters, im curious if you are going to add more weapons in the future

I worked hard in last days and as usually, it's time for small update I guess. So whats new? A lot, but most important thing is, that today I finished new custom monster for City Ruins level. As you can see on the new screenshot, it's (undead) Heretic with Bolter and you can meet them in game as single monster or partol of two. They are armed with Bolter gun and attack with burst of three rounds from long distace. If you wanna see them in action, let me know - I will make and publish Test Scene 3 - Herecs, if let me say, 10+ people asks for it.

I added new image - it's from Palace level (it's the part of the City Ruins). It's very first visual test, so you can still see old floors, grey pillars etc, but I would like to share it to get some feddback. Do you like it?

Sorry for the double post, but for the Gun Nuts out there, you should be refering to the "Clips" as Magazines. There's a difference. :P Magazines are physical boxes that you hold ammunition in, and Clips are simply metal bands to hold multiple round together for easier loading. The former being what most weapons use today, the latter being completely removed from modern weaponry save for WW1/2 Guns and replicas.

I work on objects for the first level - "The City Ruins" - and to share some progress info, I uploaded new picture from the starting location - "The Crash Site". It's took few days to make it, so I hope you like setting and the idea.

Few days passed, and it's time for a small update info. I uploaded two images from first levels - the city ruins and underground factory. Its still early version of them, but you can see the setting and some basic ideas. The first one is an sky free area, so I had to solve skybox issues etc... It works and I am satisfied with my solution, so I will focus on the scene objects design now. The second image shows standard dungeon enviroment, but the height of walls is 1,5 cell + arched ceiling to get monumental, a little bit dieselpunk or gothic look. Let me know, what do you think.

@hackbeilchen - thanks! I found bug in removing clips (if you used clip in inventory, it removed 2 instead of 1. I also extended cooldowns for single to 1 sec and burst to 4 sec. I uploaded newer version, so please check it out :-)

burst and single shot woks fine.
I would prefer a longer cooldown on the burst as well as on the singleshot.
you can lock an enemy into an endless loop if you shoot them with singelshot continuously at the right moment.
had a few glitches while reloading weapons.
as I tested I could recreate that when you reload your weapon while it is not equipped. all magazines except one from the stack vanish.
keep up the good work still looks great

Thanks for your feedback guys. I finished firing weapon scripts so I would like to ask you for some assistance. I made a new testing scene where you can find two steam bolters. Please don't care about visual, it's still a placeholder. The goal is to test fuctionality of the weapon. Try to use single / burs modes, try to reload, try to empty weapon, use one in single, second in burst etc. Comment your experience and if you enjoy the firing weapon design (I will balance cooldowns. Please report bugs or issues.

Weapons are still work in progress. This is just performance test - but don't worry, a new weapons will be ready soon so you can test them. Size of monsters fits - you will play with mixed party - it's the same issue as a minotaur in original game, he is bigger as well, but the rest of the party makes point of view lower :-)

Looking great so far ! Performance flawless - BUT ! Fireball Bolter... ? Size of the Chaos Marines does not fit.

Awesome work. This has some real potential. I'm looking forward to seeing this become a full 40k mod. Only downside is the framerate is a little bad.
