Maybe after you taunt because I checked some of the vanilla buddies out and they make sounds when you taunt... I don't have anthing that happens when you taunt right now so it might be a welcome change.

I think it wouldn't pose too much of a distraction if it made the adorable baby Metroid sounds

I didn't want it to make noise because it's cosmetic and the noise might be distracting. I would include it when you taunt but I figured that would get annoying because your character would taunt too and you'd have two sounds going on at once.

I got the error code too, and i dont have any other buddies. When i click on either Abort or Ignore, my game closes.
