Maps were made a long time ago on a Beta version, so I was kind of afraid that something 'could' go wrong with them. Glad you found this out, so I can update and fix it. Anyways, I had to update bauxite along with uranium ore resourcemap manually at tome point. Looks like the time has come.
I'm always afraid to update mods, as these "1877577767" folders make me panic that I'm rewriting the wrong files =) This clunky Steam modding system was preventing me from making more mods. Thanks for your attention!
If you are interested to fix this problem.. you should do this..
-Open your map in editor
-Build heliport, purchase helicopter
-Into helicopter add two stations.. one beyond borders western, one beyond borders east
-by clicking on station in the schedule open windows of customs for airplane/ships
-delete both customs
-sell helicopter/destroy heliport
-save your map
-restart game
-go to menu and again open your map via editor
-save again
-ensure if you will get chance with 0.8.5.13, that no warning message in the log.html..

However both them contains potential problem with customs for airplanes/ships.. those customs were added in the map.. however their type was not added into game save... already got one user with problem most probably related to this.. version 0.8.5.13 will post into log - zoll_air_soviet is added but type is missing from building.bin

- Heightmap redesigned in different scale.
- More water for ships. Less land. Ships can go around Islands.
- More stone.
- Better resources spread (more balanced way).
- Added few more customs.
Yes, this map was made for using ships widely. Not sure about maritime customs, they are not in game now, can't add them yet. I'd say they have to be. By now you can only sell ships or use them with your own ports.
Anyways, it is the time to test map once more to see if there are any problems with ships/bridges/customs/resources. I will play (and stream on Twitch) myself this week to see if map has to get fixes. So expect a new version to come out soon. I will add some resources.
I've been playing this map since it was released. But these couple of months made a brake on this game. Today we have an update with ships, and I do intend to start a new republic. With this map, of course. Because this map is the best so far on the market :D Question. Do maritime customs have to be added somehow, or is this map already ready for shipping?
P.S. about deposits :)
Well ... the main idea of splitting deposits in different zones is excelent. I do like challenges. But ... mabe it would be a bit more interesting, if there would be some more depozit places with less density. Lets say on those same regions, that deposits are now (to keep it difficult). But like having not just one deposit per resourse mabe would be nicer. And about gravel. To get gravel is real challenge :D
What I do no like is that I need to share the island with the capitalists. Maybe thats something for a future change? Alter the island's shape so that communists can use it alone ;)
I think ships will not be able to cross borders. I've forseen this and you'll have to dig a channel for them to pass. But the main question is how and where the Customs/Export docks will operate? We got no idea yet ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
