@Kitsune Dawn - Appreciate the thought, but I'll see what I can do. Sometime in the not too distant future I plan to do Central of Georgia. I've already done some research, but was waiting to finish Southern first as CG eventually took on a similar paint scheme.

I did some checking, and may have an out for you, as to why it's short hood forward. Several of the railroads that Southern ended up purchasing (shortlines, etc), had their GP's designated as Short Forward. For example, the Central of Georgia, or Georgia and Florida ran Short forward. In the case of Central of Georgia, you'd just need renumber the black one to 120 or 127. Granted CoG had their own version of the southern scheme in the early days of ownership, but you could just note "This version is short hood forward to represent locomotives from railroads purchased by Southern, and a later long hood forward version is planned."

@Kitsune Dawn - I like to be as accurate as possible and if someone gives me feedback that can improve accuracy, then I welcome it.

Very Nice! Rated! I also agree with the other comment, Southern ran long hood forward. How about the black one runs long hood for freight, and the green one runs short hood for passengers?

Might just want to release a second version that's the long hood forward version. Thankfully you took the comment on accuracy better than another content creator. I dared note that what scheme he created wasn't a passenger scheme, but a freight one, and he doubled down and claimed I was being 'disrespectful'.

@Kitsune Dawn - Thank you for the info. As I said before, I read something about this before, but it was in a forum. The article provides more information and explains the reasons for the practice.

I'll see if I can change it, but as it's already released, I don't want to mess up anyone's game. I'll do some testing and see what can be done.

Southern railway didn't convert to short hood foward until around the time that they merged with norfolk western. So, roughly 1982. Even then, they retained long hood forward. There was a caveat to this though. Nearly every locomotive they purchased featured dual controls. Meaning they had controls that would allow them operate in either direction without troubling the engineer. The exception to the long hood forward came with rebuilds, where short hoods were chopped. @Kitsune Dawn - I hear what you are saying. I read the same thing somewhere. So initially I was going to make it long hood forward. However, before doing any project, I do a LOT of research. I think initially they probably did run them long hood forward (as did some other railroads). But over time, it appears that changed. I've gone through so many photos and my conclusion is they ran them both ways, so I opted to go with short hood forward.

If someone has more info on this, I would be happy to look at it and consider adjusting this.

Not that you can do anything about it, but just a minor FYI in regards to Southern. The long hood was the front on Southern's locomotives, not the short hood. So, it wouldn't be an actual issue really. That's how Southern tended to run them.

@themeatballhero - The original albedo_opacity file for the GP9 is pretty gritty. So I touched it up long ago and have been using my version ever since. I've made other adjustments as well, but that was the big one. The GP7 is visually nearly identical to the GP9, except for a missing vent. So for the GP7 I made the necessary adjustments to the texture files.
