can confirm it is still working even with all DLC's Enabled as of march 30th 2025! The fix in the Popular discussions tab was removed after this one received its final update. was able to to install through steam, i'm not having that issue everyone else is having with that one.

This should really be renamed to something like Duplicant Extended Reach. Communicates the point of the mod so much more clearly. Humor aside, "reach around" really doesn't make sense.

Still works. Was unable to download it via steam so I had to install it manually.

@TGIF-42 that was the plan. Something limited that when I first made the mod, but I'll have another look. Making it scale with skill is quite intricate and possibly infeasible, but I'll check that again too.

Would making this mod configurable be feasible? Some ideas for features that I think would really elevate this (unintentional pun) would be a config for up and down mining, up/down building, and up/down general chores, as well as range settings per skill (maybe mining is shorter by default, but Hard Mining gets normal range, SuperHard gets +1, and Duper gets +2... similar options for the builder skill, etc).

@Bare can you maybe fix the mod, my dupes only have 2 tiles reach horizontally. Would be nice.

It might be possible. It was the idea initially, but there was a hardcoded value for how many paths tasks can be reached through. I believe this has since been removed. I'll investigate

This mod is fantastic.
That said, I like rooms 5 high, would it be possible to make the range configurable?
The game is so much more fun with your mod.

I've done some further testing - it's in both directions, but apparently only horizontally, and directly horizontally. What's more, dupes can see through tiles/natural blocks and doors in the way. Finally, it's not quite infinite reach - it looks like a limit of about 15 or so, but I've not counted exactly.

Yo @Moneybucks I see what you're saying, ist's only when the work is left of the dupe, yeah? I think there might be a remnant from me testing it in the code. I'll see if I can't fix it.

Looks like it's horizontal reach only that is infinite, from my vague testing.

Seems like there might be a bug in the current version of the mod; while enabled, my duplicants seem to have infinite reach, provided they have direct line of sight to whatever they're trying to interact with.
Disabling the mod removes the problem. I can't guarantee it's not a strange interaction between this mod and one of the others I have.
