Mods in this series don't work anymore, at least in my case. Sadly mod series creator JFD doesn't seem to even update because he doesn't play Civilization 6 anymore. I gave up using it.
RatManAntics 20. juni 2024 kl. 17:39
does this work still? and is there one that keeps titles but doesn't change names?
Nocelet 3. feb. 2024 kl. 14:45
The problem with the Portugese text seems to come from missing dependencies in the modinfo file. The mod loads before the expansions and fails updating the localization for the leaders that were added in the expansions. Adding the following lines before <References> in the modinfo solved the issue for me:
<Dependencies>
<Mod id="1B28771A-C749-434B-9053-D1380C553DE9" title="Expansion: Rise and Fall" />
<Mod id="4873eb62-8ccc-4574-b784-dda455e74e68" title="Expansion: Gathering Storm" />
</Dependencies>

Changed a bunch of my text into portugese. Didn't used to.
Atlas_x1 4. aug. 2021 kl. 14:19
Bad Mod, Bug changes In game text into portugese? like how?
Noah 5. nov. 2020 kl. 12:52
Was wondering what was causing the Portugese text bug. Shame.
Relayer 24. okt. 2020 kl. 11:10
Exactly, I don't know if it because Tamar's name is misspelled as "Tamara" in the menu (with this enabled), but disabling this mod removes all Portugese from the remaining game (I just tested every mod for this). Now to find which mod prevents the Great Persons from showing up....
TeaCat69 11. aug. 2020 kl. 3:31
Warning: This mod causes random Portugese to be in your leader descriptions and game. Just like YNAMP.
The real Caligula 13. juli 2020 kl. 4:57
Grat modpack! Though for some reason this particular mod is not working. It only gives the title "Generalissimo" for fascist empires, but it doesn't ever give "President" like in the screenshot. Is that a load order issue? The other mods I use don't really change anyhting in things governments or titles. Is that because my game is in French and not in english?
Ilija 4. juli 2020 kl. 19:03
Good mod but the Portugese/Spanish issue is a dealbreaker for now, sadly
Dnasis 4. juli 2020 kl. 2:00
I can confirm when going through through the logs that the ConfigText.xml for Expansion1 and Expansion2 fail to load when this mod is enabled (and probably the rest of the RwF mods), and thus it loads in the string translations instead (which start with pt-BR). There's a reddit thread from a few years ago noting this Portuguese side effect with regards to a DLC pack and the YNAMP map, and the thread author said load order was the likely culprit. Sadly I know very little about modding so I don't know how to adjust the modinfo files for these mods to possibly fix them for myself.

So I don't know if this will help, but I still get things on the civ selection screen in Portuguese when only this mod active, and nothing else. I had some interesting results while testing:

On the standard ruleset, everything is perfectly fine and in English.

However, things start getting wacky when switching the ruleset to Rise and Fall: Wilhelmina, Robert, Seondeok, Shaka, Tamar, and Temujin all have at least parts, but usually all, of their abilities and descriptions in Portuguese.

Then, by changing to the Gathering Storm ruleset, you start getting even more Portuguese. Catherine, Chandragupta, Cleopatra, Kristina, Dido, Eleanor, Frederick, Gandhi, Gilgamesh, Harald, Hojo, Kupe, Matthias, Musa, Pachacuti, Pedro, Peter, Philip, Suleiman, Trajan, Victoria, and Ying Zheng all seem to get themselves "infected"

So it looks as though it has something to do with expansions, and how they change what shows up on the civ selection screen?

Just trying to help in any way I can.
Ranmus 26. maj 2020 kl. 8:25
I'd get this mod for the titles, but I found out that just activating this one mod makes almost everything in Portuguese and/or Spanish.

Everything else from the mod set works though.

Poor Kristina, her entire bio is Brazillian, a fate worse than death! /s
AsaSato 22. maj 2020 kl. 6:04
Why are random leaders in Spanish or Portuguese or some ♥♥♥♥
bromleyhome 12. apr. 2020 kl. 4:16
if a dark age / golden age policy is active when a new government is researched, it makes the government tab unselectable.
Nizou 9. apr. 2020 kl. 11:08
Guees it does not work with Nomina and/or Epithet ?
swifts9 31. okt. 2019 kl. 12:02
HI JFD. Would you now why the game freezes on later government changes
JFD  [ophavsmand] 28. okt. 2019 kl. 18:03
It's not this mod. It's this mod interacting with another one of your mods, causing some of the text strings to fail to load into the game.
♥♥♥ war arena 28. okt. 2019 kl. 8:59
this mod was a huge pain in my ass because it turned Most UI-elements into Spanish or Portuguese (dont know which, dont know why, and it overwrote my settings that put them in english.)

If anyone is having an issue where your game is stuck in Spanish and nothing works, DISABLE THIS MOD! it worked for me!
bromleyhome 27. okt. 2019 kl. 1:06
I'm unable to open the government tab when a new one has been researched. Effectively ends the game, as can't progress past it. Just happened on Feudalism.
swifts9 21. okt. 2019 kl. 13:56
Game freezes when you have to select a government later in the Game. Its so frustrating
joshuacwilder 16. okt. 2019 kl. 18:49
I like the government appropriate titles, but I'm not really keen on the other changes
JFD  [ophavsmand] 8. okt. 2019 kl. 0:07
Christ lads show some contextual awareness
Blake 7. okt. 2019 kl. 12:34
it prime minister not president
JFD  [ophavsmand] 4. okt. 2019 kl. 22:14
Bugs are less likely to be innate, and most likely to be a result of load order or mod conflicts. They are all functional, and any changes that are made to the game are explained in the description in broad terms.
King Trex of Persia 4. okt. 2019 kl. 21:08
there should be a dedicated folder to all the RwF mods with the list of current functional mods , and also some guidance on how the game will be changed if all these mods are installed,. There are a quite few of these mods, while I like them all, I am affraid to install them because of functionality and all the bugs..
canadiangaming30 4. okt. 2019 kl. 20:30
Wilfred Laurier is a Prime Minister not a President.
circeus 21. aug. 2019 kl. 17:38
@metalmind I HAVE BEEN WONDERING WHY THE PLACE NAMES SUDDENLY WERE IN PORTUGUESE.
Crymcn 16. aug. 2019 kl. 7:32
Can confirm, many of the DLC civs have portugese languages.
Metalmind 14. aug. 2019 kl. 14:20
Also the following civs' names (placed as a separate comment due to the character limit): Korea, Phoenicia, Georgia, Hungary, Inca, Maori, Ottoman, Mongolia, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Zulu
Metalmind 14. aug. 2019 kl. 14:19
With only this mod enabled, and American English as my game's display and spoken language, a bunch of text that should be in English is in Portuguese instead:

- The science victory text on the game setup screen.
- All descriptive text for the components of the following leaders: Cristina, Dido, Kupe, Matthias, Musa, Pachacuti, and "Soleimao"
- Leader ability and UB/UD/UI text for the following leaders: Eleanor (both), Robert, and Hojo
- Civ ability and UB/UD/UI text for the following leaders: Chandragupta and Gandhi
- All descriptive text of components, excepting the UU, for the following leaders: "Guilhermina", Seondeok, Shaka, "Tamara", Temujin, Philip, and Ying Zheng
- UB/UD/UI text for the following leaders: Catherine, Frederick, Pedro, Trajan, and Victoria
- All descriptive text of components, excepting the civ ability, for the following leader: Cleopatra
- Leader ability text for the following leaders: Gilgamesh and Harald
- Civ ability text for the following leader: Peter

Bruh, it's a tiny bit detail, but it should be Ying Zheng instead of Yin Zheng.
JFD  [ophavsmand] 5. aug. 2019 kl. 0:47
Dunno why, but I thought I had already changed Matthias Corvinus - maybe I intended to but forgot. Harald I completely overlooked. Will make both these changes. Thanks
pajamathekid 4. aug. 2019 kl. 18:45
It also changed Robert the Bruce to Robert I, as "the Bruce" is a nickname based on his family name. What do you think, @JFD ? Sorry if some of the things I have said are incorrect, my "facts" here may have some flaws, am only an amateur history nerd here, not a real history teacher.
pajamathekid 4. aug. 2019 kl. 18:45
Hey, I'm curious why this mod does not modify Harald Hardrada's name either to Harald III or Harald Sigurdsson. As well as Matthias Corvinus to either Matthias I or Hunyadi Mátyás - written in the oriental order as is customary in Hungary, similar to Hojo Tokimune (Clan/Family, Given name). Is it because the titles that accompany their names are Epithets? Hardrada "Stern-Counsel/Hard-Ruler' and Corvinus "Raven/Raven King" are these titles? do you think the mod shoud alter these as it changed Qin Shi Huang to Yin Zheng since "Qin Shi Huang" lit. "First Emperor of Qin" is a title and his real name was Yin/Ying Zheng or sometimes Zhao Zheng and was referred to as simply "Zheng" when he took the crown of the state of Qin.
JFD  [ophavsmand] 22. juli 2019 kl. 9:19
Untrue, and irrelevant if you bothered to pay attention to what the mod does
Nikki 22. juli 2019 kl. 9:15
canada doesnt have a president, we have a prime minister as head of states
HunterPen 17. juli 2019 kl. 3:33
Is it support Chinese language?
Appelmonkey 14. juli 2019 kl. 12:18
Will there be civilization specific titles like in the original RwF (i.e. 'Pioneer' for tribal American leaders or Grand Pensionary for Liberal Dutch leaders), or will those be left out?
JFD  [ophavsmand] 13. juli 2019 kl. 21:34
Yeah, possible people didn't all receive the updates I pushed out yesterday to fix issues like this - to do with load order between GS and Rise and Fall.
Dnasis 13. juli 2019 kl. 21:25
Installing and enabling your Alternative Governments mod alongside this one seems to fix the issue.
Dnasis 13. juli 2019 kl. 20:14
Can confirm that when I enable this mod, most leaders (I don't use modded leaders or civs, but do have all DLC and expansions) have many of their information sections changed to Portuguese in the Create Game (as well as Civilopedia). Some leaders are even using their PT names (example: Kristina -> Cristina).
JFD  [ophavsmand] 13. juli 2019 kl. 2:34
Check the troubleshooting section in the description. Also, make sure you're using Gathering Storm.
Emeki 13. juli 2019 kl. 1:16
When this mod is enabled, the language for the civilization descriptions on the create new game screen is in Portuguese only.
Berserk 12. juli 2019 kl. 19:43
I'm gonna get this mod just so I can overthrow the tyrannical Canadian presidency and reinstate Her Majesty's Prime Minister
JFD  [ophavsmand] 12. juli 2019 kl. 14:15
I hope you're memeing
Homuya 12. juli 2019 kl. 13:44
Prime minister? Dont you have a PRIME MOOSE?
jester 12. juli 2019 kl. 11:03
Canadian President? Canadian PRESIDENT!? I will not stand for this ignorance. Canada is not America. We have a PRIME MINISTER. Please get it right, for once.
JFD  [ophavsmand] 11. juli 2019 kl. 8:29
Unfortunately not
Kanellos 11. juli 2019 kl. 8:09
Nice idea. Is there any way to make it so the name of the civ changes depending on your government (e.g. Roman Empire when Autocracy, Roman Republic when Classical Republic)? Just an idea.
