Fun bit of trivia, the fern leaf used as the insignia for the 2nd New Zealand Infantry Division is worn on the service dress of the British Army's own Reservist Regiment the Royal Wessex Yeomanry. The reason for this is that one of it's predecessor Regiments was awarded the fern leaf for saving the Division at the Second Battle of El Alamein.
