in the questionable ethics chapter some of the marines are the vanilla models

Some guy made a fix for my lack of update in this mod, I don't have the time is not an excuse, I'm not being a good leader or make deadlines is not a good excuse, errors in script and the delay of a V4 that probally never come is not an excuse.

I loved EVERY Half life 1 style enemy in the Workshop so far, the Alien grunts, the Houndeyes and bullsquids, the headcrabs, and even the Vortigaunts.... the only half life 1 mod i didn't really like... are these HECU ones, like, DON'T GET ME WRONG! it's just a little nitpick of mine but:

.....the HECU here are TOO Skinny compared to their 1998 counterparts, who are LARGE and scary, in fact... these HECU are even TOO skinny compared to Black Mesa's Retail version. It's kind of a shame... I truly wanted a "remaster" of the HECU's large threatning bulky stature 20 years ago.

HOW I FIXED BROKEN NARRATOR:

By the way - not only narrator in chamber appears to be an error message, but also some guards in office chapter. So don't think it'll just happend once.

FIX:
1. Install vpk (lear how to install BM mods in custom folder it's simple)
2. Just don't subscribe/unsubscribe to this mod in workshop

Somehow subscription was breaking game for me. Mod itself worked fine

I followed the rules and I noticed that when the Masked Marine model shows with short sleeves, there was no radio filter for their voices. The character_manifest.txt is actually outdated and you need to update that file for it to be compatible with version 1.5.

For some reason it breaks the guy voiced by the narrator from stanley parable, the older guy that opens the test chamber, yeah hes an error now

is this compatible with 1.5?

Mod is overall confusing and I am having trouble figuring out how Mediafire and GCFscape help with this and also what exact bm_misc_dir do you mean? This is tutorial just dosen't really help for me if you could give me more info I could possibly figure this out.

@rabbyt I also use the V2 version and thanks to a new update of the 1.5 version of Black Mesa the workshop was finally fixed ! But because the mod worked partially I had to put the custom folder in the bms folder and add in the gameinfo this : game + mod bms/custom/*, so now the V2 works perfect now ! Of course, any mods that will not give errors will also work if you do this step !

Edited the .vpk file like I was told to do and now the game won't start. Yeah I'm rolling back to V2.

God the workshop for this game is a complete nightmare. Looks to be the devs don't have the first or last idea what they hell they're doing.

@YourUgly, you said that you finally figure it out ! Can you tell me, please, what do I have to do in replacing the character_manifest ? ( I don't know if the game start up failure will happen to me too but I wanna try ). I tried a few times and I don't know what I'm missing ! Sorry if my english is bad

Wow, great mod! At first I couldn't get it to work with the latest Crowbar Collective update, but that's because I (foolishly) assumed that CC had finally gotten the workshop function to work properly...nope, it still looks like some mods, including this one, require a custom folder. Thanks for all the hard work you put into this. I'm saddened we may not be seeing a V4, but maybe some day if the enthusiasm returns once again!

@papanikonen sorry if thyis sounds a bit rude, but just make a backup for the original one in the first place before insert mine, is kinda a basic thing with mods, make a backup first.
Is kinda basic you know? If you will replace some basic file, make a backup first, is not a big file for be afraid to backup.

If you did not do that, just reinstall black mesa and make backup of your other mods (in you case gamebanana mods, because I don't know if you use the mod version or in worst case scenario (not judging) a pirated version)

I believe your case is because you don't have the steam version, probaly the mod version, so I'm not sure if it will work.

Do not think that I am being arrogant or arrogant, but responding to comments is already "enough", this mod basically died, it doesn’t just depend on me a V4, and also, to be honest I lost the enthusiasm in this and other projects.

Well hopefully it will get updated. I was able too finlly figure it out but as soon as I replaced the character manifist in the bms_misc_dir and then reziped it and put it back where it belongs the game for some reason fails to start up says the character manifist is missing for some reason so I put the orgianl back, but then it failed too so had to reinstall the game. So I dont know what went wrong. Also the only thing I find in the link is a file.com

@Your Ugly, the instructions is simple, just follow the steps. I don't have the time or patience to do the video. with all respect Is kinda simple if you read with attention.

To repack the vpk drag the folder to .vpk application.

And no, this not work with Black Mesa Character Expantion mod, choose one or other.
And if you read the other comments I will not update this mod in the present moment.
