Sorry, I don't have time to work on this mod anymore due to a variety numer of reasons. As for the Vietnamese, they are too distant from the Mon and the Khmers due to Chinese influence as much as Viet nationalists like to deny it. They were far closer to East Asians compared to SE Asians in term of culture. Vietnamese is more or less a Sinoxenic culture, though I might split apart East Asian again.

Happy New Year and Christmas to all! I noticed that this mod has not been updated for the new patch which has come out and subsequently the game crashes every time I try to run this mood, is their an update available or on its way to make the mod playable again?

No, factions only activate when you control the entirety of the Chinese region that happens through triggered events, so as a warlord faction you have to control a large amount of provinces within China(the majority). Factions also deactivate whenever a Chinese nation is westernized. Also, the mod is always updated to the 1.2.2 patch so not much conflicts there.

Is this updated to the 1.2.2 patch? I seems to have problem getting this mod to work. The religion shows up but never saw the Han and those other China's faction in the screenshot.

Cool, I think it would be good if we had the option of converting any religious group to our own if we make them our vassal, as a condition for peace (100% score needed) through personal unions or when you get the same dynasty thing it should be optional for that nation if the dynasty’s original country religion is different to the country sharing that density leader to add depth and realism to the religious aspect of the game, I would also like to see the Swahili States religion start with animism only changing to Islam when Oman occupies their land.

Documents/paradox interactive/EUIV/mods/ folder that is. Whenever Steam downloads a mod, it usually gets sent to this folder. You unzip the 7z file to that folder and then run the launcher, it should show up as non archived.

Are you sure you unzipped into the right folder? That is /mods/ right? So far I haven't seen anyone else say it's not working. And please if you are having a crash do not use the Steam version. Unsubscribe and delete the /asia_improvement folder and .mod files to be sure. As far as I know it's working fine for me. It's a Steam/archiving issue, not the problem with the mod.

Thanks for the mirror. Steam workshop downloads don't seem to be very reliable. You should post that link on the forums too. :)
And one thing I noticed: maybe a consistent naming for the mod would benefit it, on the forums the thread is called "asian improvement mod", here it is "asian renovation mod", and in the opening post it is "asian improvement" again. :D I'm sure the thread titles are editable?

It's to reflect two things: The state religion of Japan was Mahayana Buddhism with Shintoist elements until the Meiji Restoration. Also, the Theravada would receive a different icon. The Mahayana still have the Mahakala. The crash should be fixed already because of a checksum conflict.

I've noted that in the last patch for euIV they have changed something with buddism( in indochina it appears simply buddism with another icon instead of mahayana) plus the torii of shinto appears with the mahakala of buddism and when i run your mod and i try to start a game with a random nation it brings me back to desktop

Sikhism is in, but appears at a later start date if you haven't noticed. I might add some Sikh-related events in the future.

I think the trading bonuses are fine. The truth is that china was a superpower at that time, Europeans had to invade as they had no chance in the global market as china had superior quality, quantity and cheaper goods which flooded the world markets leaving nothing for European nations who were unable to compete with them economically similar to what’s going on now.

@Der Werwolf : Okay, please explain the problem in detail. But it it's localization of the ideas, I'm working on that as somehow the localizations got corrupted.
@cerealkiller: I was going to, but given the way how the game exactly works, I decided to place them under the Tengriist religion, even if it is quite different from Manchurian shamanism. Giving the Jurchens the Shamanist religion wouldn't be as good as I thought because they lose defensiveness and their provinces would be too easily converted in terms of both religion and culture.

Looks quite lovely. My only 'complaint' is that Manchurian Shamanism should probably be a different religion from Tengrism proper, but that's minor indeed. I'll comment after trying, but preliminarily great work!

The Byzantine names were a bug in the older versions of this mod that should have been fixed already.
