I use this mod and I also made the change below and it basically nullifies global warming.

Modifying Game File:

Navigate to the game's installation folder, then to the DLC folder, and find the Expansion2 folder (for Gathering Storm DLC).

Locate the Data folder within.
Open the file Expansion2_GlobalParameters.xml.
Find the line: <Replace Name=\"CLIMATE_CHANGE_PERCENT_COASTAL_LOWLANDS\" Value=\"0\" /> and change the Value to 0. This will stop coastal flooding

Gathering storm would be a lot more fun without the make-believe mechanic of a rising sea level.
meow 4. nov. 2024 kl. 21:36
can you make an infinity times slower version that just removes the sea level rising shit
Bobs 7. aug. 2024 kl. 20:02
Can you make this mod at least 5x slower? 3x is still not enough on oversized maps with a lot of civs. It will crash the game as soon as the sea levels rise.

also i kinda like ice caps melting at it makes your society forced to adapt to a new environment. and thats one of the things im thinking with nukes, and terraforming, hell maybe even ice ages.
Stachman 6. juli 2024 kl. 9:11
Also it would be neet if nukes would genuinely fuck the world up and destroy cites, and turn tiles into wastelands, imague turning the world into a frozen landscape of nuclear fire, were you would have to rebuild civilization from scratch, and if there is only dom victory your barely scraping by and at consent war with every other nation in a nuclear landscape. i like the idea of each endgame feeling drastic and unpredictability different, i feel like on higher difficulty the world being a peaceful utopia should feel like an accomplishment, or even tense as maybe next turn it could all fall apart. or you at war with your neighbor cuz they turned the world air conditioner on.
Stachman 6. juli 2024 kl. 9:11
I think the expac would be cooler if it focused on a future era terraforming, like hear me out imagine if you played in a area like Canada Greenland or Russia and intentionally melting the ice caps would benefit you but fuck over civilizations in deserts, or play in a area like Arabia and intentionally make the world colder to turn your land from shitty sand to pretty woodlands (or even being a island nation in the center and causing a ice age to make more land for yourself), but doing so would fuck over the northern places like Canada. and hay maybe that could stem from in world climate schizo stuff the expac is about, like maybe a civilization uses what is learns about 'global warming' and thinking "Hmm i could use this to benefit myself" and maybe that could follow into the science victory were you are using your knowledge of how to change the earth to terraform a nearby planet to be habitable.

I'm disappointed that climate disaster cult is back in Civilization. CO2 follows the temperature not other way round like politicians and media says. The world has seen CO2 levels of 7000 ppm and now we have 400 ppm. Low rating is dangerous, not high rating.
Joshness 6. mar. 2024 kl. 15:34
It's pretty funny how people who point out flaws in the narrative are called ignorant and bigoted, yet any attempt to make or say something not perfectly inline with what is established as fact is taken down or shadow banned. Don't forget guys, Obama is so concerned about global warming and the flooding of the east coast he bought property on a very expensive island.

What? Steam REMOVED the remove global warming mod?
Gonadscratcher 12. jan. 2024 kl. 14:05
must have since steam removed the "remove warming effects" mod, shame it doesnt increase the figure by 1000%
daze 3. jan. 2024 kl. 8:41
Can you make the mod that removes global warming?
Redhotlugnut 18. dec. 2023 kl. 22:54
This does nothing. 1600 water started rising. Have unsubscribed.
claudemac24hrs 1. dec. 2023 kl. 1:25
Does it affect any saved games?
Vanvalhir 19. sep. 2023 kl. 9:17
Can you make the mod that removes global warming? I do not like this mechanic.
Exacrion 16. sep. 2023 kl. 7:54
Make a mod slowing it down by 3000x to make it realistic
Hestia 23. juli 2023 kl. 16:10
Is this mod okay? Global warming that fast is pretty dumb in vanilla. Doesn't really suit a scientific narrative.
fl0wan 27. nov. 2022 kl. 1:40
doesn't work for me
Galen Iros 16. feb. 2022 kl. 10:50
@tanstafl your first mod? Just subscribe to it and then check the dlc/content section ingame and activate it.
tanstafl 16. feb. 2022 kl. 5:01
Sorry to be so stupid but where / how do I download the "3x Slower Global Warming" mod?
Realm Walker 6. sep. 2021 kl. 6:48
@orensatov I have this occuring without these mods too.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 15. juli 2021 kl. 15:59
Steam likes to unsubscribe me from discussion threads of my own mods, so please only comment on the "Climate Balance" collection page for these from now on. Thanks. I won't see what you write here anymore.
TheGreatBrain 7. dec. 2020 kl. 1:53
It appears to only happen when coupled with Apocalypse Mode.
TheGreatBrain 7. dec. 2020 kl. 0:35
For some reason every time I try to play with this series of mods the game STARTS at level 1 of climate change with 10% of arctic ice melted. That's with Ancient era starts. I do have other mods active but none touch this system and had worked fine to this point. Seeing as your mods are sql files and only change one global variable I can't see why this is happening.
Endee 14. aug. 2020 kl. 19:52
Does this mod effect current saved games or do i have to start a new game?
Frank Savage 30. apr. 2020 kl. 18:46
Might be my own modding and I think the flood settings are off on this map for some reason. Shame. Still a great map. Industrial start with Russia. 16 nations. Just got betrayed by Sweden and the entire world retaliated. Persia also attacked Yerevan and I just liberated them. Cossacks are so good! I got to say I love playing Russia, up there with USA and Britain.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 30. apr. 2020 kl. 7:53
did the CO2 levels rise? The mods do not stack, but the higher ones override lower ones. It's possible though that other mods from someone else are interfering, but generally it's only set to 0 if a mod explicitly says so.
Frank Savage 29. apr. 2020 kl. 23:21
Correction. I am getting disasters, just 0 floods... interesting.
Frank Savage 29. apr. 2020 kl. 23:21
I think that the x2 and x3 mods stack yeah? I did mod my globalparameters.xml as well before hand but now I have no disasters and no global warming. Interesting. Last game I had the same settings and i had disasters. Too many mods probably!
JNR  [ophavsmand] 7. apr. 2020 kl. 14:01
It's possible, but I'm not interested in doing it, sorry.
Elon Mosque the Space Jihadi 7. apr. 2020 kl. 11:55
can you create a mod that effectively disables climate change and disasters? it feels like a forced feature that doesnt really aid the civilization experience. unfortunately it is forced in with actually useful and fun features such as canals :(
Galen Iros 22. jan. 2020 kl. 1:26
How does it work with the "Take your time"-Mods? should I use the 3x slower Global warming Mod when using 2x slower research? Any suggestion?
Manic 11. nov. 2019 kl. 10:20
We just need a mod to turn off climate change.
Vorpal 8. nov. 2019 kl. 18:07
Thank you for providing this mod. Would it be possible to add a control that allows the player to manually set the GW slow down?
dojoboy65 22. sep. 2019 kl. 13:51
Thanks. I get that climate change would make its way into the Civ series, but it's annoying. Akin to the headache pollution caused in Civ3. Have it, but I hope Firaxis will find a way to incorporate it another way in Civ7.
Traveler 25. mar. 2019 kl. 18:56
Thanks, the climate change mechanic makes playing Islands (my fav) completely pointless.
JNR  [ophavsmand] 19. mar. 2019 kl. 17:50
I will not provide support to stacking mods with the same effect. In a test, all three mods resulted in a slow-down by a factor of 9, no stack overflow observed. But do it at your own risk.
AwesomePizza 19. mar. 2019 kl. 17:46
So I can get rid of climate change if I stack these? Or will it just round it back like mods and instantly flood the entire world?
