Just for anyone who's thinking of this mod in the future. As of 2025, this one seems to work as described, though honestly, due to the snowballing nature of how the civs work, even this 2x delay is only a delay of the climate change mechanics. Because once the other civs get pumping out coal power plants, the delay DOES slow down the CO2 accumulation, but they'll just exponentially plant those power plants and eventually you'll get that crazy high level of climate change the base game throws at you for having one ironclad in operation for the industrial era.

So yeah, it works as described. But you might want to check out a mod like Take Your Time Ultimate, which allows you to modify the CO2 values at game generation to even slower amounts than this one until you find a rate that you like.

Probably not related, but I installed this mod and the game I was all ready playing, global warming suddenly shot up by two levels even with me hammering out non-stop CO2 recaptures from 12 cities every 1-2 turns.

This is so useful when you add more civs but stay the same map size.
