but after you are done editing where do you drag the edited file?

After you install Left 4 Dead 2 Authoring tools,it will generate captioncompiler.exe in Left 4 Dead 2\bin.
Subtitles text files are in pak01_dir(in left4dead2 and dlc1/dlc2).vpk,you can edit the dialogue,but game only read subtitlesxx(xx is game language).dat in left4dead2\resource,when you edit text file, programming a Batch Document to compile the text you edited,then it will generate a new .dat file to replace older one.
