By the way! I want to distract you a little bit more and ask - is there any reasonable way to automate the placement and indexing of icons inside the big common .dds texture - or did you do all this work MANUALLY ?

@Neman feel free to use any assets as you see fit. most of them are the old icons from an earlier kenshi version anyways. gl with your mod!

Hello! I am currently working on a fairly large topo mod, and I need markers that will be much easier to turn into more accurate city locations - without cluttering the map itself - so I would like to use your resources in my mod - would you allow me to do this?

Vanilla map icons are too detailed and hard to look at especially ''camp'' icon. Nice and simple mod

Please keep in mind that this mod requires its own version of the kenshi_images.xml file, which points to resources that include:
>> Title Screens
>> Loading Screens
>> Splash Icons (the logo credits as you load up the game)
>> Map Markers
>> Custom Mouse skins (appearance changes for the mouse pointer in-game)
>> GUI icons
>> Font Overlays

Since this mod does not replace all these things, the xml file will point to vanilla resources it does not replace (or modded resources in your load order that have the same vanilla name).

If you are not seeing specific changes, such as loading screens, or other expected changes from mods that change the listed visuals, then you will likely need a patch (a new kenshi_image.xml which includes edits that point to the desired resources) to add under these mods.

I'm creating a patch for this and Loading Screens -fixed and will place it in discussions when it is ready.

is there a switch button ? this seems to make all the icons weird and over writes parts of my favorite map mod "Nice Map [Zones + Zone names + Roads]"
I expected this mod to simply give me map markers like in Vallheim for example.
But this mod doesnt give me the ability to put markers on the map or does it?

How do I remove simple map markers ? I have removed the mod because I prefer the vanilla markers but the markers are still present. I have tried imported the game but still they persist.

Just so everyone knows, this is not compatible with Loading Screens -fixed, as they both modify kenshi_images.xml .

@Cratoic I was having the same issue; moving it to the bottom of my mod order seemed to fix the problem.

Kind of strange but for some reason, the icons won't appear for me when I enable this mod. I've had this issue for a few months now but I don't know what seems to be the cause of the issue.

It's so clean but I always forget all the places I learn when collecting maps from stores

@Nox As long as you don't have savegames relying on mods that alter "kenshi_images.xml" simple map markers should be compatible to any savegame of the current version.

@TwitchMan1 Thats a feature of the game itself and not altered by the mod. havent looked much into that yet, but yea its something that annoys me too sometimes. might check if i can do something about it

Nice mod, seems to work well but I am unable to find anything that reveals all icons without needing to zoom. Sometimes, I am looking for a ruin I bought a map location and I recall seeing it somewhere, but the icon will not be visible until I zoom in enough an search around.

@lindner_e-mail - dieses Mod ersetzt lediglich die vorhandenen Mapmarker mit neuen, welche ähnlich der Beta v0.80.0 sind. Es tut mir leid, falls ein anderer Eindruck entstanden ist. Eigene custom Marker auf der Karte zu setzen ist ein wesentlich umfangreicheres und komplexeres Unterfangen.

Leider kann man hier keine Marker setzten wie man aus der Bezeichnung glauben könnte, dies ist lediglich eine kleine Korrektur von Kleinigkeiten auf der Karte.
