Without making any comment on the politics of Iran or the Ayatollah, there is absolutely no way I'm opening THAT can of worms. As always, refurbishment is coming "soon" and I'm looking at leaders I can add on for it. But definitely not the Ayatollah.
Shuhrat 6. sep. 2022 kl. 9:32
Dear friend, don't you think that Ayatollah Khomeini may be the leader of Iran. I believe that he is the one who differs from the rulers of Iran during the time of the Shah. And it should be interesting.
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 9. jan. 2022 kl. 10:40
it's on my list.
sirbirdybird 8. jan. 2022 kl. 23:24
Hey is this updated? I was wondering if the Jazayerchi replaces the line infantry. If so could you make it so.
a "podcast" 28. dec. 2021 kl. 21:19
No Ayatollah 0/10
Chefoo2025 30. juli 2021 kl. 6:56
I love Iran-------from China
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 31. mar. 2021 kl. 12:02
Will put it on my list. Unfortunately, Engima's just gone for some reason and I'm on a modding break until May 16th
MandolorXVI 31. mar. 2021 kl. 11:48
Hey, love the mod I was just wondering if you could change the design of the troops from the european standard to the ME type, its kinda distracting
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 20. feb. 2021 kl. 16:39
fuck. I'll put it on the Bugs-I-Really-Need-To-Fix-But-College-Means-I-Don't-Have-Time-Right-Now list
Fantasieprodukt 20. feb. 2021 kl. 9:10
(playing with GS and ynamp)
Fantasieprodukt 20. feb. 2021 kl. 9:10
@ Captain Lime, when i try to play with Nader, it doesn't show civ icon or leader icon in the leaders list and after pressing start button the game crashes
Fantasieprodukt 20. feb. 2021 kl. 8:46
@HyperLonk, the story is not so simple as you suggest. The basic game represents only the Achaemenid Empire, while this represents the middle age and Early Modern Persia /Iran. Another modder developed the Sassanid Empire. Capitals, special units etc. change over the course of time. No reason to stick to one single empire for the whole history of one civ.
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 15. feb. 2021 kl. 11:36
@HyperLonk: I am well aware of this, thank you.
UNBREAKABLE 3. jan. 2021 kl. 18:00
Iran is already in the game... Persia IS Iran, Iran is Persia in Persian.
Boricapra 19. dec. 2020 kl. 12:55
I seem to have come upon some problems. The Qizilbash never appear after being produced, the Tofangchi do not ignore the hill terrain movement penalty cost, they do not seem to obtain experience from Governor titles and when rifling is unlocked and consequently Jazayerchi, Tofangchi vanish from production lists. Jazayerchi seem not to gain a free promotion either. There could be mod incompatibilities, but I am unsure what could alter that. I have no game-changing mods, only mods that add new civilisations or new units to existing civilisations.
Boricapra 5. dec. 2020 kl. 10:41
The music Persians developed is considered traditional Iranian music, albeit yes, the people of Persian highlands developed different music than their Azebarijani cousins or Turks, from whom both Ismail (albeit by blood Ismail was actually Circassian, Georgian, Azebarijani, Armenian etc.). Yet both of them adopted Persian culture as de facto culture of the court. Conquerors by heart, but still Persian Shahanshahs, patrons of Persian arts, music and sciences. So Persian music is very fitting, but you could argue that the mountainous Azebarijani have more in common with their steppe Iranian ancestors, the Iranian tribes of Scythians.
Boricapra 5. dec. 2020 kl. 10:41
As to the person bellow me, you must not forget Iran is a term referring to a very large area of middle east. Iranian people occupy lands from Azebarijan in Middle East to steppes of Central Asia. From highlands of Iran to mountains of western Asia. However it is the Indo-Iranians that settled in modern day Fars, in ancient times known as Persis, land of Iranians who called themselves Persians, that dominate Iranian culture. In fact Persians have become a synonym for Iranians. Due to efforts of Cyrus the Great, the nomads and herdsmen of Persis conquered the known world of antiquity, spreading and developing their tolerant culture. What was considered Persian later dominated cultures from Balkans, through Anatolia and Middle East all the way to farthest corners of India. Such was their cultural beauty. Persian became the language of not only Sassanid (who by origins were in fact Persians) Zoroastrian dynasty and their Empire, but of all Islam and majority of Asia.
Boricapra 5. dec. 2020 kl. 10:41
Trully marvellous.
I now have Achaemenids, Cyrus the Great and Darius the Great; Sassanids, Boran, Kawad, Shapur and Khosrow the Great; Safavid, Ismail and Afshar, Nader Shah. The greatest Shahs of Persia and Iran.
RedWillow1917 31. okt. 2020 kl. 4:54
Can I make a wee request? Can you give them the Scythian theme song? IMO it has a more "Iranian" feel than the Persian theme.
RedWillow1917 29. okt. 2020 kl. 6:15
Thank you for the update! :)
Speedy Gonzales 23. okt. 2020 kl. 0:16

Update for GS please...🙏
dy 13. apr. 2020 kl. 8:23
is there an non-steam download link of this mod?
McDuck 29. mar. 2020 kl. 15:35
horngeek, I actually like the convention in Civilization games to use 'Persia' to denote the pre-Islamic country ruled by Cyrus, Darius... all the way up to the Sassanids, and to use 'Iran' to denote everything since that country's conversion to Islam
maur1an 28. feb. 2020 kl. 14:16
You are a very nice modder, i can't wait to see other civ from you =)
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 28. feb. 2020 kl. 10:02
thanks for the report - unfortunately my university semester has reached another critical stage, so it's (again) difficult for me to deal with this. I'll get on it when I can, but as usual it may be a while.
La Creatura 22. feb. 2020 kl. 23:40
Hey, just want to report that it for the UA, gaining governor titles doesnt seem to give a burst of culture or faith, but the production bonus to districts seem to work. Ismail's LUA which gives +2 era score doesnt seem to work as well.
horngeek 12. aug. 2019 kl. 18:45
Yeah, that's fair enough. :)
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2019 kl. 8:00
We are aware of that, but this was a conscious choice. It's the issue with differentiating a civilization whose history is broken sharply into pieces. For example, say there were a Modern Egyptian mod. Do you call it 'Modern Egypt?' Because that's a little clunky. You could rename the other Egypt to 'Kemet', but that's far less recognizable. Alternatively, you could call Modern Egypt 'Masr', as that's the name of the country but that's even less recognizable than Kemet.
horngeek 12. aug. 2019 kl. 3:42
Part of me wants to nitpick that 'Iran' is just the native name for what the West has historically called Persia :V

That said, this looks pretty good regardless, and I like the usage of governors.
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 27. juli 2019 kl. 15:10
Huh, I could've sworn that they were going for Shia. Lemme check on that.
McDuck 27. juli 2019 kl. 9:27
Can you have this work w/ some other mods, like Tomatekh's historical religions? Like right now, if I'm using that mod, then both these Iranian leaders claim Sunni, if they have the first dibs at it, when they should be Shia/Imamiyah
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 14. apr. 2019 kl. 17:34
I don't take commissions, andEnigma is more the engineer here than I am so - I only did the art. Also, call me Lime :)
Jonnus.Cobra 13. apr. 2019 kl. 16:45
This one's great. Hey, Captain, do you take comissions? I have some ideas for some civs. Do you have a Discuss account? Thanks
Captain Lime  [ophavsmand] 8. apr. 2019 kl. 10:23
We're going to update to Gathering Storm, but real life got in the way for both of us. My plan is to fix the Ottoman Sultans and then see about the updates if Enigma hasn't beaten me to the punch already
axatoramus 8. mar. 2019 kl. 9:28
AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
social 28. feb. 2019 kl. 9:35
nice mod! are you going to update it for Gatherig storm, by any chance?
Bluff Battalion 11. jan. 2019 kl. 13:49
Has this been updated to fix the bug I referenced?
Faysal 11. jan. 2019 kl. 7:12
Actually, Persia is an exonym. There never was a Persia, until the Shah called it like that. There was always IRAN.
Faysal 11. jan. 2019 kl. 7:11
WOW
