Now that I've looked into it, I don't see a problem with how the mod handles barbarian cities so Eblana must just be bizarrely set to a Roman region in the code, which means even though Eblana is inhabited by Celtics, the game "thinks" it should look like a Roman city thanks to the mod.
portalnerd55 8. nov. 2024 kl. 15:28
I'm also having issues where several Barbarian cities like Eblana are also western Roman for some reason. Shame, this would have been a nice mod.

Thanks for the mod. For some reason, Dimmidi belongs to the Western Roman type of cities (Sahara region).
Riekopo 27. dec. 2022 kl. 1:15
Does it need an update?
Big Boxus 25. apr. 2022 kl. 5:25
Mod work, thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for.
kaato 14. nov. 2021 kl. 1:50
does the mod still work?
Kencko 24. okt. 2021 kl. 16:55
Compat with Roman Rebirth?
Gunth 20. juli 2021 kl. 9:55
Thanks! This is a really great mod! However I'm seeing that level 3 major barbarian settlements in Roman territory show minor walled cities in battle, with the shorter walls, instead of high walls like that of Rome. Is this working as indended or am I missing something?
AlviseLeone 25. maj 2021 kl. 1:10
@anisvara it is simple, "Armenia" mod the startpos and every mod changing something in the startpos is not compatible. Unless you'll do on your own...
NalgaSucia 20. juni 2020 kl. 4:17
@TheOneWhoKnocks Radious just updated its Radious Total War Mod. Is this mod compatible with it still? Thank you in advance!
Dry Critical 24. nov. 2019 kl. 3:52
Yes, mine even doesn't work even on Vanilla anymore...
Anisvara 7. juni 2019 kl. 21:41
Are you shure the the mod works as in the description for eastern factions occupying romen settlements? I tried it yesterday playing armenia (with mod) and nothing changed.
Anisvara 6. juni 2019 kl. 6:46
Great Idea. But what about the garrison? Do we get garrison troups without converting? Furthermore there are bugs in Vanilla. Not one unit garrison in an occupied city for some factions. I have an open alan campaign. The are setteling in Caucasus and Armenia. I will test your mod soon as possible.

Question: Is there a way to make it so that barbarian major cities in WRE/ERE/East territory gain high walls when they are upgraded to level III and IV? When I am encountering level IV barbarian major cities in WRE territory, they just look like a level IV minor settlement on the battle map (although they do adhere to the Roman style).

Great job! There s a possibility to create new settlements and divide provinces in the future?
KakLadder 27. mar. 2019 kl. 14:21
I can't find the "tile_upgrades.xml" file in the "terrain/tile/battle" folder.. :(I'd love to play this with Radious mod
Starstone 16. mar. 2019 kl. 23:50
is it compatible with the Raze=Sack mod?
briz 5. mar. 2019 kl. 1:16
Mod does not work. Captured East remained Barbaric(
phile 3. mar. 2019 kl. 7:39
will my celtic settlements coqured as WRE still look celtic/germanic or will it look roman?
Iolaus 19. feb. 2019 kl. 15:30
Can you tell me why this messes with Fortify and Ambush stances ?
I know in Rome 2 it completely messes it up, but with Attila I actually didn't have a working Fortify stance while playing with Radious mod

A nice mod for realism. It does make the game harder too. Playing as the alamans i coquered roman lands. Then the huns attacked i tried to defend those wak settlements witn no high grounds :P (The barbarian strongholds are near impossible to lose when defending)

Does mod still have effect after converting the buildings? I found my conquered E.R buildings turn into Sassanid style in campaign map.
TheOneWhoKnocks  [ophavsmand] 21. jan. 2019 kl. 10:11
@Rorys A Filthy KIkE: No, they should keep their look which they had when you captured them, so they'd look Eastern Roman. :)
Rapids18 14. jan. 2019 kl. 9:48
if i take E.R settlements as W.R do they look W.R
TheOneWhoKnocks  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2018 kl. 10:51
Thank you, that is really kind of you, but I don't want any money for it. I'm just glad that you enjoy my work. :)
James Stone 28. dec. 2018 kl. 10:16
My God, you are the MAN! Thank you so much! Do you have a Patreon I can donate something your way?
TheOneWhoKnocks  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2018 kl. 7:34
There you go. I made a custom build of this mod for you. I hope, you like it. :)

If there are any issues with it let me know. ;)
James Stone 28. dec. 2018 kl. 6:24
I'd appreciate it, @TheOneWhoKnocks! Thank you very much!
TheOneWhoKnocks  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2018 kl. 6:22
@James Stone: You don't need to edit the startpos file. All you need is to make a few changes to the tile_upgrades.xml file. I can do these changes for you if you want. :)
James Stone 28. dec. 2018 kl. 6:17
@That second solution would be awesome, honestly! I'm not really up to speed on modding, could you give me a few guidelines on how you would do that (making Lvl4 towns look Eastern)? Would that involve any tinkering with the startpos file?
TheOneWhoKnocks  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2018 kl. 6:10
It's possible to change the battlemaps themselves using the Assembly Kit. You could remove the buildings you don't like and replace them with different ones. That would be a huge undertaking for which I don't have the spare time right now. I'm sorry.

If there's a demand for it I can make a mod that replaces all Western Roman settlements with Eastern Roman ones. Another possible solution would be to have level 1-3 Western Roman towns look Western and level 4 towns look Eastern.
James Stone 28. dec. 2018 kl. 6:02
@TheOneWhoKnocks Well, close to that. All WRE settlements that aren't Rome look absolutely dreadful. Doesn't matter if your city is level 4, if you went Pagan and if it's the cultural living center of your province. The battlemap is still a bunch of broken houses, abandoned anfiteaters with overgrown vegetation or being used for squalor habitation (even if a max-level Anfiteater is built there) and the capture point is a dillapitated Christian church.

I was wondering if there was anything in your power you could do to solve that? I mean, making all WRE settlements look like ERE isn't exactly ideal, but it's better than what we have now.
TheOneWhoKnocks  [ophavsmand] 28. dec. 2018 kl. 5:51
@AlviseLeone & Sikeliorex: I'm afraid that's currently not possible. A settlement's layout can only be affected by the owning faction's culture and by its location on the campaign map.

@James Stone: That depends on what you mean by that. You can make them all look like Eastern Roman settlements or have every single settlement use the Rome or Constantinople maps for example.
James Stone 19. dec. 2018 kl. 13:17
Any chance you can make the Western Roman settlements not look like dillapidated shitholes?
Peacemen 15. dec. 2018 kl. 21:55
Wow you really did it! Now i feel like playing the tv series viking.
Rapids18 14. dec. 2018 kl. 9:12
detailed compatability
Sikeliorex 13. dec. 2018 kl. 3:29
can you mify in that case the city is destroyed, the colonizer can chose the type of city, like i am a Saxon and i destroy Londinum and than i rebuild it, it may be barbaric cityes? It will make the mod more medieval!
THE KING IN THE NORTH 9. dec. 2018 kl. 14:09
is this compatibale with seven kingdoms ?
Golfbag Mansampler 9. dec. 2018 kl. 6:43
Excellent. Rated thumbs up.
AlviseLeone 8. dec. 2018 kl. 13:13
Wait 4 CA implement this type of mods maybe adding tools to modify cities based on your religion... It is useless imho having a Germanic pagan tribe living with a monastery close by or a church in the main plaza...
But this we got, so, great work boyz!
