I'm not sure if the standards were changed. This was designed back when the most commonly used standard was 9x9x12/24/48. im having the hardest time getting the containers to sit flat in the car? doesn't look wide enough what am i doing wrong?

You could have masured it yourself but it can carry twin 20ft or a single 40ft.
