Hey AWG
my friend TheAirShipGuy just recommended this mod to me for our Water world thanks!

@adrian Prolly due to performance issues / being too difficult to implement. Bear in mind, these are meant to be used in things like tank fights in SE, so...

well that sucks

Sorry, I've tried two fixes so far but nothing yet, have more ideas though and could try remaking this from scratch. Hang on in there!

hardly noticable but it actually states in the description that the mod is broken although yes, i experience the same issue of course

gun not working, no round come out?

Guns use a penetration and bullet drop script which is broke in major update. Be patient and he will have them fixed when he knows how and when he has time :)

Could you add a config file to this like the M5? I really would love it to have one. <3

Hmmm, don't think there's much you could do without contacting him/her but interesting idea :)

Thanks. I've been experimenting with creating towed AT guns, that's why.

Anyhow, I've got one more question. I've been using a "AI turret slaving" script to make my rotor turrets engage targets autonomously. Thing is, it doesn't compensate for the projectile drop. I dont think there's something you could do about it, but I just felt like putting it out there.

I might notify the script creator to see if there's any scripting trickery he could do.

And the recoil is made for tanks, and wheels with high friction will completely stop the vehicle from moving more than a metre if you're above 50t
Ava | Combat Medic  [ophavsmand] 17. nov. 2018 kl. 5:00
It's not designed for survival, but has the provisions for it. I have had repeated problems getting these to work with conveyors :(
Proximity | Ardy Emmer 16. nov. 2018 kl. 13:56
My biggest compaint is that it's not compatible with conveyors, I understand handloading for authenticity, but in order to do that, I have to have an open design, like a field gun, and that means that it get blown 20 feet back by the recoil. Recoil like this is acceptable on other howitzers, but a low velocity 76mm should be half or less. Also yea, damage is a little off, but that can be offset by firing shitloads of them, hince why conveyors needs to be compatible

Multiple elevation rotors can work, as long as they don't have a high torque, they should take some of that force. Otherwise you can try pistons, recoil 'spades' that are like blades on the rear of a tank that when firing it recoils onto them as to stop it moving too far.
Hmm, you can also try upping the friction on your wheels, 100% is good for tank driving.

Do you have any tips on building anti-recoil mechanisms?

I tried to come up with something, so I put the cannon at the end of a piston. Turned it off and tuned down the resistance along its axis, and idea was that the cannon would compress the piston, absorbing some of the recoil. This didn't work though.

I found the only real solution was to either have a heavy vehicle, or to lock it down with a landing gear. Any ideas?

And thank you, it is quite fun! But remember the HE damage is emant to be low due to it being a 76mm shell. It has a higher RoF to compensate. Do damage by hitting weakpoints or targeting infantry, the M5 is better for straight anti-armour performance.
Ava | Combat Medic  [ophavsmand] 16. nov. 2018 kl. 3:01
The recoil isn't insane? It's less than half off the other tank guns. Build anti-recoil mechanisms if you have to :) It has just above the recoil of the 120mm, I can reduce if a bit if you want but from my testing regular tanks can fire it fine but it depends on scale and weight massively.
Alpha-5 16. nov. 2018 kl. 0:35
This has given me many ideas.....
Boiccubus☿Boba⚸ 15. nov. 2018 kl. 19:26
It's fun to shoot, but the recoil is insane and the damage and AoE is very very low. If that's what you meant by currently broken then disregard. Keep working on it though, it's very fun to play with.
