That's good to know. Thanks a lot. I've thought about a lot of DC area maps. The Airport, The Tysons township, Rockville. I made a WIP DC central and I completed a Join Base Andrews Map. THere's a lot of interesting maps in the DC area. If maps ever got much bigger, I'd seriously think about an entire DC Metro project.

Very accurate, love it, most DC area maps are barely close this looks like a satellite duplicate. well done, I can actually point out the exact location of my childhood home.

Hi. I think the traffic works fine. The interchange was actually created by Arisandi. He's in the workshop with a large collection of interchanges. All the rest I did myself. Arisandi used to make many of my complicated interchanges, before I got used to making them myself.

Dude...I'm from the DC area and since I began playing this game I thought "Man it would be amazing if someone was able to pull of the Springfield Interchange". I am very impressed. How's the traffic on it?

Looks pretty cool - I lived 10 minutes away from Springfield VA - used too (born and rarised) then moved to Seattle - gonna try this one out.

Good luck with Charlotte ... I'll give you a nice vote on that map to ;-) ;-) ;-)

Thanks a lot Hendrik. Bon Bon is reviewing Charlotte too. It's a more popular map, so maybe that would make it into the top 10?

Thanks for FB group name, I'll go look at that. I'd love to see progress.

Thanks. Fort Worth was a bit of a boring and featureless map. It was made at the standard 18x18 kms scale. The downtown blocks actually became 8x8 cells when adding the standard 4 lane roads. I built a fair bit of the city and it was turning out fairly well, but as a raw map, it was not the most attractive to build on. Maps using this current style are much better. I'm about 50% through Joint Base Andrews and it is turning out to be the most detailed map so far. A lot of work is going into it, so you will have to take a look and see what you think when it is uploaded. Based on the detail, it's going to be at least a couple of weeks more. If you are in the Skylines Nation Facebook Group, you can see some progress pictures. The map will probably come with 500,000 trees already on it too and an extensive road system.

Wow! Two of my homes in maps! :D That's great! I saw the review of...Fort Worth? Yeah. The large amount of pre-made network in a map that can't possibly be truly to scale turned out to be less than a great idea, but heck, that's what bulldozers are for. Having the landscape features and the basic highways is sufficient in "inspired by" maps. No matter--you get huge props for such large undertakings.

Hi NanoGrrl. Yes i know both of those places. They are both on two planned maps that i will tackle after i complete the current one of Join Base Andrews. The Rockville map includes Bethesda and Gaitherburg. Rockville is near the center tile of the 81 tile map.
Another map will be called "Tysons" which holds McLean inside the 25 tile area. Both maps will be scale at my normal 16x16 kms so that they remain accurate. I love the DC area for it's mixture of greenery, highways, streams, the mixed urban usage and the fact that there are so many small downtowns like Silver Spring, Bethesda, Tysons, Rockville and also smaller ones like Reston, out near Dulles. I tend to like low density urban areas, but i also like some areas that contain mid height apartments and office buildings. The DC area is perfect for my style. Atlanta is another area with a lot of greenery and different urban layouts. Places like Buckhead for instance.

Ha! I'm from Rockville, Maryland, but grew up in McLean. You know where those places are, I bet. Love to see what other local maps you've done.
j_nobbs  [作者] 2018 年 10 月 22 日 上午 3:09
Both of those places are very interesting. When i complete Joint Base Andrews, I'll include those areas in my list.
Boba Princess 2018 年 10 月 19 日 下午 8:19
Please do Silver Spring, MD or Arlington VA
j_nobbs  [作者] 2018 年 10 月 18 日 下午 2:12
That is a nice area. I also looked at a map with the center tiles being Joint Base Andrews. It doesn't quite include the Show Place Arena and the Home Depot out that way. There are a lot of forests and a lot of highways close to the base. I wish i could make maps faster. They are at least 100 hours to make, if not closer to 200.

Upper Marlboro and eastern PG would be a great addition as well. Rolling hills, old tobacco farms, expansive forests, a lazy river and small estuary;.

Thanks a lot for the comments. I was not initially planning DC central, as i tend to prefer low density mixed use areas. I have 5 areas to choose from at the moment, the next being Dulles, but making sure that map includes Reston and also quite a bit of the suburban and industrial areas to the north.
The Ashburn area is a very interesting suburban area. A very interesting road layout. I use Network 2, Extra Landscaping tools and some others such as Fine Road Tools and Road Anarchy. Check the mods are enabled in the Contents Manager before playing.
AGingersaurusRex 2018 年 10 月 16 日 下午 3:57
I was thinking about doing the Ashburn/Leesburg area but cant get some of the terrian/road mods to work lol

Wow super gorgeous
robierap 2018 年 10 月 15 日 下午 5:58
Great job and accurate. I drive pass the "mixing bowl" everyday. I assume you're going to head north-northeast into DC!
j_nobbs  [作者] 2018 年 10 月 15 日 下午 12:29
Thanks. You are welcome. I think the next map is going to be Dulles Airport in the bottom left corner and the rest of the map as highways and suburban areas, as well as commercial areas that service the airport.

Amazing! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Joey. It's quite accurate, but not absolutely perfect.
