Hey Imminent, I use GIMP.
By "compression artefacts", do you mean "annoying white pixel ♥♥♥♥ that looks like a white outline around the edges"?
I ran into that problem too. What worked for me was exporting the file with Compression BC1/DXT1, and DO NOT generate Mipmaps.
If you're following Sebidee's modding guide, he'll tell you to generate Mipmaps when exporting the file, but I found that doing that was actually causing the white outlines.

Hey Whiskeyjack, do you use Photoshop or GIMP to edit the diffuse.dds files? I was trying to make my own recolored griffon but I was running into problems with compression artifacts showing up on the edges

nice idea, works on general of empire lords only, also after a lot of refreshing still only managed to see normal and white griffon but not the red :(
also please add the blue griffons they look so sick

Yeah, I'll update it for the Vampire Coast patch over the weekend probably; I'm pretty busy playing it myself!

I dont know why but when I enabled the mod all of the griffons turned white (apart from deathclaw). Also could you update?
