where's sealand?

So how do I choose start location? I've tried to start new games several times, but the spot was always the same, at the south edge of Greenland.

In order to really randomize preselected start locations that were placed in a map

I am intrigued. So there's a dll mod that does what exactly?

I guess I need to update my mod to get a second map to try out.

Hello @htdang, in fact I did it because without it, the half of civilizations and city-states spawned in Iceland as it is the only "big location" with grass, so for a good start.
But regarding starting locations, it is known that their are totally predictable, you need a dll mod in order to make it work as it should do (it is easy to find it on the internet)

Played it twice now and it's a lot of fun. It's too bad there are only a few set places that players will start. Totally understandable considering all of the habitable locations are along the periphery.

I've played it with 9 and 10 players and I can pretty much tell where the AI players are. =)

In any case, keep up the good work.

Greenland is over 20 times bigger than Iceland in reality and at a glance (without physically counting each hex) appears to be around that in this map as well

I see no problem here, Doctor G. Greenland has that shape on satellite images taken from space too.

we live orb not a flat map. Longitude is base in time. your map is long and distored since it at the top of the world. Acual greenland is fat and small with a small curve.

using this map makes it the size of africa, when actual is 1/14 or in laymans terms .... Africa is bigger than China, India, the contiguous U.S. and most of Europe—combined!

so look up conformal conic map and put some "reality too it"

if you still do not understand. that picture is taken at the very top of the world where all the lines of longitude are squash out then it pulled out freakish like.

I made the map thanks to a picture of Greenland in an Earth globe, so not thanks to a projection, so I don't understand your reproach @Doctor G. You can see plus in a conformal conic map that Greenland and Icelande appear with the same proportion and size as the map

map is the false map, look up conformal conic map.
