What's this gate bug? They seemed to work fine when I tried the scenario with some friends.
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 25. jan. 2020 kl. 7:06
For some strange reason DE hates gates in scenarios made in HD. Even when they are replaced in the DE editor they are still broken. But we are looking for a fix for that and we'll also probably find a unit to swap out for the heavy swordsman.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 24. jan. 2020 kl. 22:41
Not at the moment. I'm still waiting for a better PC to play the definitive edition. Plus, I heard that DE is very buggy in terms of scenario editing so it will be a longer wait than anticipated. It's definitely not forgotten and I plan to convert it fully at some point while including new triggers from the DE itself. Thanks for bringing it up. I was wondering if anyone was playing this mod on the new version. Let me know if you find any other bugs.
Nils 24. jan. 2020 kl. 6:07
Any progresss in converting this to Definitive?

I've noticed that the Definitive Edition breaks this scenario in some ways like removing the Heavy Swordsman unit from the game files.

Scenarios will be converted

I am aware of the definitive edition coming out soon. I hope that all of the maps from HD carry over to the new version instead of having to remake it from scratch. That would be agonizing.
Maelvona 21. aug. 2019 kl. 3:26
Did you hear about Definitive Edition being released in november? Do you have plans to remake this map in their editor, or transitioning it if possible?
Rook  [ophavsmand] 20. aug. 2019 kl. 20:25
Alright here is the final ‘FINAL’ version of the map (4_0_3). Now I’m done with adding new triggers. Instead I want to focus on finding bugs/glitch and fixing them (if there's still any, for goodness sake). Please leave a comment and provide feedback. Also, don’t be shy to add me on steam as I do host this map quite frequently and I could always use some good players. :steammocking:
Rook  [ophavsmand] 20. aug. 2019 kl. 12:12
If you were to click on view 'Change Notes' you will see everything that has been added. But yes there is a trigger using 50/50 chance condition to reward Pompey. Somewhat historical with a twist. Enjoy! :)
noodles 20. aug. 2019 kl. 6:29
What's new? There's something added to Pompey and sending him the Alexandria?!

Hi guys! I just updated the final version of this map (4_0_0 FINAL) along with Darth_Nox’s version 3_0_15. They have now been published in tandem and share some similarities in terms of gameplay. The main difference is that in Darth’s version there are unique triggers such as Navalia which gives attrition damage to all ships that are lingering in the ocean and if not being properly maintained at ports (Navalia) ships will vanish into thin air. A fantastic trigger which forces players to focus more on land. Other than that, these two versions are pretty much the same (oh and in version 3_0_15, there is the Nile river). Anyways have fun and let us know if there are bugs. Thanks!
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 26. juni 2019 kl. 17:41
Huns was chosen in an earlier stage of development when it was thought civ bonuses would play a larger role in gameplay. Turns out the way the game has been developed, architecture and people's flawed sense of history is more important than that. Changing the civ to Persians is a simple fix and I see no reason not to do so at this point.
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 20. juni 2019 kl. 18:19
Thanks for the comment, and you are right, yellow is tough
Rook  [ophavsmand] 20. juni 2019 kl. 16:32
Slingers! They are nightmare to any infantry units. They can melt legionaries like piss through snow.

*p6 allies with green
RadioRaveUp 20. juni 2019 kl. 12:49
Awesome map, but dang, I don't know how on earth you can survive as yellow, especially if p6 allies and overruns you
ItzMarine 20. juni 2019 kl. 1:38
Well, when you win parthia, the player can't lose automatically, he have only the king of mercenaries camp, and when the mercenaries towers are destroyed, the king is alive, so, the solve iis make 3 mercenaries tower and when all towers are destroyed, the king die, So that the player dies and has lost naturally and following the role
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 19. juni 2019 kl. 14:55
Could you be more specific? Explain a little more and we'll get it fixed.
ItzMarine 19. juni 2019 kl. 12:23
i found a bug, when the parthian empire lose all units, he have only the king and he cant lose, pls fix that bug, pd, the map is amazing!
Rook  [ophavsmand] 25. jan. 2019 kl. 14:11
We decided to implement your ‘build a bridge’ idea in Spain. However, it already is challenging for red to take Spain when blue is an experienced player since all he needs to do is build palisade walls, towers, and mangonels on the top/bottom side. Also, Pompey gets a free cavalier upgrade which was supposed to mimic his superiority in cavalry strength. Ilerda is already on a hill if you look closely and trust me when Caesar tries to lay siege, he is fighting uphill and ends up losing the first attempt in taking Spain. I do appreciate your enthusiasm so please keep sharing your brilliant ideas! Thanks, No One.
JimtheMonk 25. jan. 2019 kl. 10:40
Fair enough But he did hav cavalry in spain if u look online for what the spanish legions where comprised of and that wouldnt be game breaking just somthing to run around the legions and give them a little bit of trouble
secondly i actually tested bridge foundations but sadly it doesnt actually work and im sad that placing a foundation bridge doesnt work so the bridge will have to appear, meh

i think it'd almost be cool if the bridge peices appear over a time like 20 seconds but thats just me
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 25. jan. 2019 kl. 9:58
Those are some really solid suggestions, and like you seem to have pointed out, the marshes north of the bridge were supposed to represent a second bridge that was being built. I hadn't really considered actually putting in a buildable bridge, so that seems like something I'll take to jw. I might make it so you have to build an outpost rather than bring a hero unit there, but it is an excellent suggestion.

I am fairly certain that Pompey's legions do actually get that healing bonus in Illerda, though I suppose you might be asking me to increase that. As for the Pompeian archers, I'm not certain that we Pompey needs such a bonus, or whether that was a significant enough aspect of the battle to justify that. (I know we have added some things of ...dubious historical accuracy, but I still want things I add to have at least a glimmer of historical reference)

Thanks for your comment, I hope you get to see some of your suggestions added, and that you continue to enjoy the map!
JimtheMonk 25. jan. 2019 kl. 9:35
I know in real life there wasn't so much a siege as Caesar outmaneuvering the Pompeian's and burning their supply lines but since we cant recreate that with the space we have i think making a siege that lasts for a short while would make the campaign for Spain more fun

Regardless of whether 4,5,6 are added i would like to see at least the first 3 since they are very simple to trigger
also, although it'd be a Nerf to Caesar ,with a little balancing and maybe a small reinforcement for Caesar when he takes Spain, it could be a way to add a bit more fun to the battles for illerda

I love this scenario, i think it is great so far but also has so much potential and i love what your doing it's a great scenario and i think it deserves a place up with the great aoe2 scenarios like game of thrones overhaul keeep working jwj5787_Rook and Darth_Nox
JimtheMonk 25. jan. 2019 kl. 9:30
I'd like to see the battle for illerda be more comprehensive and to do this id propose a simple set of changes:
1) The shallows north of the main bridge in illerda be removed
2) If Caesar or Mark Antony goes to the area next to the river that divides Gaul and Caesar for 5 minutes wooden bridge appears in the northern area(you should probably put a rock either side of where the bridge will spawn so the Pompeian's do not try and stop it from spawning)
3) the city of illerda be put on a hill(defensive reasons)
4) the Pompeian legions getting an extra heal bonus in illerda(until it is claimed)
5) A spawn of Pompeian archers (whatever unit type u make that as but capped at 15-30 ) that stop when Caesar builds the wooden bridge into Spain

this game is great
RontheDon 23. jan. 2019 kl. 12:51
i think that orange is balanced, as it occurs ocasanally in game where teal kills orange in first 15 min so it really depends on how noob orange is vs teal.
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 9. jan. 2019 kl. 11:05
Orange is, to the best of my knowledge, balanced. You might not have experienced that in your last game, but I am willing to wager that is more attributable to how people chose to play. If, however, this continues to be an issue and orange is consistently too powerful then they will be nerfed.
If you are wondering how I'll decide that they are "consistently too powerful" that will be decided by the number of people who tell me about it, and my own possibly biased experiences ingame. This scenario is still being worked on and feedback is both needed and appreciated. You should keep your tampon talk to yourself though.
El Jeffe Epstein 7. jan. 2019 kl. 13:02
Wow, you sound really mad, what happened, bro? Want to talk about it over tampons and tea?
nerf orange

Oops, I accidentally deleted ... (Don't remember his name, so we'll just call him "guy who joins lobbies to harass me for being bi guy") Anyways, I deleted his comment. I'm sure that it was insightful, constructive, and not at all salty. I'm certain that he isn't at all upset that even when given the easiest player role he still managed to fail in a new and exciting way. He is truly an asset to those employed in the noble art of idiot proofing.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 3. nov. 2018 kl. 16:24
The reason why she’s on a horse while Ptolemy isn’t was to mimic her disadvantageous situation in the actual event against Ptolemy. She was running for her life and spent most of her days hiding from Ptolemy's assassins. While Ptolemy, the boy king who didn’t know anything about politics, is stuck in a tower not knowing what to do. That’s why she gets a buff when you successfully bring Caesar to her base. Ptolemy has no buff other than his hero being able to garrison inside buildings. There are pros and cons. So pay close attention to Cleopatra and use your ninja reflex to stay alive until Caesar arrives with a gift.
AAB_EAGLE 3. nov. 2018 kl. 14:28
Make Ptolemy a mounted hero(possibly Henry 5) so it won't be unfair since he can garrison towers while cleopatra cannot.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 21. okt. 2018 kl. 19:21
With the most recent update (1_0_6), you can now purchase units using your king located on the top of the map. Some players will lack this ability (p1, p6, and p7). However, we value your feedback and welcome any comments, ideas or suggestions you may have! Thanks.
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 1. okt. 2018 kl. 8:55
Your suggestion would have been...a lot more helpful about two months ago...

The map is a little cramped, but is just something we are going to have to fix via iddy bitty tweaks here and there, assuming we can, in fact, fix it at all. Thanks for your comment!
Legendlo2 29. sep. 2018 kl. 22:50
Maybe you can get rid of the forests, by zooming in more on Italy, Gaul, Illyria, and etc
Rook  [ophavsmand] 18. aug. 2018 kl. 0:01
I'll take that as a compliment.
El Jeffe Epstein 16. aug. 2018 kl. 18:11
no one is intelligent enough to play this scenario correctly
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 13. aug. 2018 kl. 14:03
Thanks for your feedback! We are taking it into account and I think you will be happy with the changes we make. We are well on our way towards an updated version, it should be out in the next few days.
AAB_EAGLE 13. aug. 2018 kl. 12:59
Can you make Player 3 a little bit harder to win?
Dark Horse 13. aug. 2018 kl. 9:29
Map is in a playable state but seems to be a work in progress, Teal needs a proper counter to Orange's imperial units(Genitour maybe?), and Yellow some slightly better defences to fight off early aggression from Green without dying immediately. Marc and Pompey need a chance to leave at start so Purple can't just auto-enemy and kill such important characters.
Il Covenanti 12. aug. 2018 kl. 14:23
Has the potential to be a good map someday but needs a shitton of work still. Balancing is key here. Yellow has no chance when green knows what he is doing. Also orange has no problems rushing teal and dominating the game.
Rook  [ophavsmand] 12. aug. 2018 kl. 0:44
When Pompey captures Rome, Caesar has one more chance to retake Rome from Pompey by using Mark Antony. This trigger is only activated when Caesar dies which bestows Antony the same ability as Caesar, which is capturing Rome and receiving 500 gold per five minutes as long as you hold Rome. The only thing that’s missing is the ability to hire legionaries in Alesia, Massilia, and Brundisium. So don’t lose Caesar and fortify Rome once you’ve captured it.
Jim 11. aug. 2018 kl. 16:36
p2 needs buff at start, p8 needs debuff. p1 needs debuff to spanish units. And Rome can't be recaptured if u lose it. Which kills Caesers game.
AAB_EAGLE 11. aug. 2018 kl. 11:55
man its so cool thanks for making it!
Darth_Nox  [ophavsmand] 11. aug. 2018 kl. 7:10
Thanks for your comments, and thanks for answering Danbomo. He is right, unfortunately unless you want to play against immoblie ai then you will have to find seven other people to play this with you. Its not that hard, these lobbies have been filling pretty quickly.
