Hey thank you for this mod. It takes a special heart for someone to have compassion even for video game animals. I bought your books on amazon and love them. May you dwell in peace and compassion

Oh sweet. nvm there is already a mod for that... Hear that buddies? your family dogs now...
Vegan-Friendly Soul Magician 22. juli 2017 kl. 7:11
Oh of course that little mutt gets all the love, and Garmr and Cusith are just hangin' around that old castle all the time? (cool mod, but still...)
PancakeWizard 7. mar. 2017 kl. 13:53
I only have vanilla Skyrim and unrelated mods, and the extra dialogue option just isn't showing up for me.
Bill Suckington 15. maj 2016 kl. 12:10
i always wanted this mod
dg 22. jan. 2016 kl. 10:44
Aah, so I was about to get this mod until I realised it wasn't compatible with Hearthfire. do you know of any versions that are, or have you updated it. It'd help me a lot if you let me know :)
RedRum2514 16. nov. 2015 kl. 6:26
yup, im gonna stay away from Followers till im more experienced
Flatline  [ophavsmand] 16. nov. 2015 kl. 6:21
Ironically that was the problem I had when I tried to make it work in Hearthfire; Skyrim's dialogue/quest system is truly, utterly horrible... and the dialogue/quest system for companions is even weirder. Like, ALL companions, animal or NPC, share aspects of the same underlying system, so it becomes really difficult to change one without changing all of them.

Hell, it took me long enough just to figure out that "dunPOITundraMarshDog" was Meeko.
RedRum2514 16. nov. 2015 kl. 5:25
Ya im into modding, but I suck at altering/adding dialogues, so I probs wont make my own version
Flatline  [ophavsmand] 16. nov. 2015 kl. 5:01
Seriously though, feel free to *make* a hearthfire version, if you're into modding at all. There was nothing particularly creative or new in this mod, so I don't mind if people make their own versions.
RedRum2514 16. nov. 2015 kl. 4:57
Oh, ok then.
Flatline  [ophavsmand] 16. nov. 2015 kl. 4:20
Not unless you want to make one. Leaving aside the fact three years have now passed and I don't have Skyrim installed... from what I recall, Bethesda messed with a whole lot of stuff; at the time, I couldn't even figure out what was conflicting.

But theoretically, Hearthfire allows your children to adopt Meeko anyway.
RedRum2514 16. nov. 2015 kl. 1:20
so is there any hope for a hearthfire version?
Flatline  [ophavsmand] 24. sep. 2015 kl. 15:33
Sorry, the husky version wasn't mine; I just told the guy that it was fine if he wanted to use my mod to make it. At the time, I didn't have the DLC.

I don't know why he'd take it down though... that's kinda strange.

If you know anything about using the creation kit, I seem to recall that it's pretty simple to swap models - there's a drop down box or something, and since wolves, dogs and huskies are all basically the same creature, there shouldn't be any complications.

I would do it myself, but I don't have Skyrim installed anymore, sorry.

I had the husky version of this mod and I'm wondering if the husky version is gone or deleted on steam because it was one of my favorite mods .

Try opening the console and typing:

prid 000D95EA

Then type

moveto player

If the dog doesn't magically appear next to you, it means something really weird has happened and he's actually been removed from the game or something. If this is the case, then with the dog still "selected" via the prid command, try the "enable" command, then moveto player again.

Alternatively, you could try player.moveto 000D95EA, which should move you to his location.

Failing this, I really don't know. I haven't actually touched Skyrim in a year or two, and there was never anything in the mod that should have resulted in him disappearing... which would mean that it's either a clash with some other mod, or an underlying vanilla bug (of which there are many where companions are concerned).

Meeko disappered when I left for awhile, He isn't in his shack or in the house I set, How do I fix this?
Flatline  [ophavsmand] 3. juni 2015 kl. 11:08
Then you can use the "stay wherever I leave you" option to just... put him somewhere. For example, when I joined the companions, I left him in the feast hall.

Due to the way the AI packages work, if you leave him this way, he'll wander around a bit and interact with people (except all anyone can say to dogs is "stupid dog").
FlorallSwann 2. juni 2015 kl. 13:16
what if you dont have a home in all of the list?

@ Palgeorge -

"Warning! - May not be compatible with Hearthfire. If you have Hearthfire, you do not need this mod."
Nitro77 2. maj 2015 kl. 16:43
Does this work with Hearthfire DLC? It wasn't mentioned in the list you gave so it's worth asking.
MONROSCOE 19. apr. 2015 kl. 0:53
where do i find him
KoreiN 15. apr. 2015 kl. 8:10
Well I doesnt try to dismiss him after telling him where the home is. Gotta try that tomorrow, Thanks!
Flatline  [ophavsmand] 15. apr. 2015 kl. 6:40
@ Oroshii - Well, keep in mind I haven't actually touched the game or the creation kit since last year, and don't even have it installed anymore... but I seem to recall that the system requires that you first tell the dog where his home is, then you dismiss him.

Are you saying that when you dismiss him, he keeps following you?

Also - mods that change follower AI may possibly clash with this one (though this mod only modifies the Meeko dialogue and quest progression)
KoreiN 10. apr. 2015 kl. 22:26
Meeko doesn't go to breezehome after saying him "home is to whiterun" he just keep following me also i dont have hearthfire dlc if that helps
elliott 3. nov. 2014 kl. 16:34
@sunkist
Go to skyrim wiki and search meeko's shack. or, untested, get skyui and search meeko's shack in find location. on th map. the default in map hotkey should be f.
elliott 3. nov. 2014 kl. 16:32
I don't think so...

Where Do i Find Meeko? :ccknight:
Cougarmint 30. juli 2014 kl. 12:46
I have to agree with you about the Creation Kit's dialogue system. It was very counter intuitive and I broke Meeko's quest and other dialogue quests several times trying to get my dialogue to work. It is not very user friendly at all. I barely managed to get my dog working without blowing up my Skyrim game to do it. Thanks for the help anyway, and thanks for this sweet mod. If I ever am able to figure out the dialogue/quest/nightmare system, I'd be more than happy to share what I've learned with you.
Flatline  [ophavsmand] 30. juli 2014 kl. 11:49
@ Blasphemer - No.

@ Cougarmint - To be honest, I made this mode two years ago... so I don't really remember the details. Essentially, it's a combination of added quest stages for Meeko's quest (all dialogue in the game is handled by its own "quest"... it's the worst dialogue system ever, quite frankly), and the "stay where I leave you" dialogue sets the dog's home position to whatever its location is at the moment you dismiss it (which is also why you can't set a position, then dismiss the dog somewhere else - the act of dismissing is the thing that sets the position).

Other than that, you'll have to just screw around with what you find there. As a general pointer, the only things the mod changes are:

* Meeko himself.
* Meeko's dialogue/quest (I think it's something like dunPOITundraMarshDog... which may also be his designation on the npc list).
* The vanilla houses (I added markers to each for the preset home positions).
DerekX100 29. juli 2014 kl. 22:42
does this mod need DLC
Cougarmint 29. juli 2014 kl. 20:22
I love this mod, and I've "adopted" meeko for my vanilla skyrim.

I am working on my own little dog follower, a ghost dog, which I would like to have stay wherever I leave her as well. May I ask how you did this mod so I can make it work for her as well? Just the "stay where I leave you" part? (I have a custom home).

If Meeko was a white wolf, then he's been modded (by another mod). As such, I can't really help you; try disabling the other mod(s) that change him, and if you don't have an earlier save, look at that uesp link below and use his ID to move him to you using the moveto console command (eg. type prid D95EA, then moveto player, or player.moveto D95EA)
RedRum2514 18. maj 2014 kl. 22:03
meeko was a white wolf and he ran away and i dont know what to do ":(

Blackfox Kitsune 8. maj 2014 kl. 15:25
Meeko is a random NPC dog at a place called Meeko shack, with a Dead nord in side, he often meets you on the road and then seeminly runs off into the woods, he is infact running into Meeko's shake to show you his owner is dead. He is a present NPC hound even before this mod, this mod simply allows you to leave him at home. I have recently run him with heartfire :/ my advice... keeping in key towns, not the craftable houses, he dosn't work very well on the outside lol. get dogs for houses mod if you want a dog for crafted homes.
OwO 3. maj 2014 kl. 8:19
yeah were do you find him ?

I was always reluctant to send Meeko back to his shack, now i have no fears for his safety, a much appreciated mod.
