I have published an unofficial version (updated to 1.1).
[1.1] Simple Recycling
[iG] Poison 19.4.2020 klo 19.56
For reference, here [github.com]'s the changes you'll need to make (change About.xml, add the necessary file at 1.1/Patches/Patch-Recipes_Production.xml).
[iG] Poison 19.4.2020 klo 19.54
Hey y'all 1.1ers - this can easily be made compatible with 1.1. I've filed a pull request [github.com] to get the mod updated, but you can update the mod yourself locally by making the changes locally.
JessieFeathers 11.4.2020 klo 22.53
1.1
Garm_GK 18.3.2020 klo 9.46
This mod will work just fine in your 1.1 game, but it will prolly throw an error at you, saying something about tailoringspeed, don't worry about that it's fine.
ShiGuang 7.3.2020 klo 20.11
1.1 please
CaptPicard 7.3.2020 klo 3.10
1.1 possible ? (+ Trad Fr)
four12 28.2.2020 klo 7.45
Seems to work just fine on 1.1.
Sir Duncan Idaho 25.2.2020 klo 13.17
Can someone confirm this works in 1.1? I see ThePixel said it does, but I'd like more confirmation. I'm going to test as well.
Draegon1993 25.2.2020 klo 9.07
It's a lanilor mod, guys, it's unlikely to be updated given they're basically MIA
thepixel 24.2.2020 klo 3.54
The mod throws out a couple errors, but seems to work fine for 1.1
Tobias 20.2.2020 klo 14.12
need version for 1.1 =/
Thuran 15.11.2019 klo 11.37
Is it possible to include some option in itens for "recycle"? I don't like having to specify which itens to recycle, but pick one and have it done.
Handyman 4.11.2019 klo 12.33
What's the difference with the Salvage apparel bill?
isavegas 1.6.2019 klo 19.36
For some reason, each item that I disassemble results in a stack of 5 cloth that won't combine with any other cloth. I have hundreds of little stacks of cloth everywhere.
Wish Granter 15.3.2019 klo 6.18
If you want tainted appearel to be cleaned, get the mod "hygenie" and go down the "wash machine" research tree. It will allow you to even clean marine armor, but to be true that is almost like cheating isnt it? There is a reason for that debuff
Galaxy Gas Wizard 1.2.2019 klo 14.10
Does this mod allow tainted apparel to be "cleaned" ?
[iG] Poison 19.1.2019 klo 9.35
Noticed that the Flak jacket is just broken down to cloth (and not steel/components) - guessing that's a bug with Core, though?
David 10.1.2019 klo 0.13
Thanks for this amazing mod. It's simple and blend perfectly with the original game. 10/10
Proxy_J 18.11.2018 klo 23.31
No way to pick only tainted items...?
timsteele 10.11.2018 klo 15.52
Will this allow recycle of dead raider clothing ?
Mr. Poopy Butthole 28.10.2018 klo 9.35
@Tobe_Continued : my comment as well. ive asked this somewhere else from mr simple
Mr. Poopy Butthole 28.10.2018 klo 9.34
Nobody answered the guy askling about where that defs is, anyhjow, if u download this via github or something, you'll install the mod on ur mods folder. in d folder u put there, probably named simple recycling, there's a defs folder and in it is a folder and in that folder is an xml. edit that xml with notepad for example and change add the said "<li>Smelted</li>".
Mister_Wolfgang 21.10.2018 klo 18.48
Hi ! Can you upload a B19 version on steam workshop ? For streamer's let's play and for facilitate its installation by the community.
viirinsoftworks 20.10.2018 klo 18.24
I realized (I didn't play with it before) that by tweaking hit point and quality minimums and maximums, a lot of things can be calibrated.
jpinard 19.10.2018 klo 16.56
OK thanks.
Lanilor  [tekijä] 19.10.2018 klo 15.33
IIRC the rate hardcoded in the core assemby, so you can't simply change it.
jpinard 19.10.2018 klo 14.56
Is there a way I can change the amount that gets recycled from the 25% down to 15%? I see in the defines it does a throwback to weapon smelting for its rate. If I just plug in .15 in that field will that work or mess it up?

Thanks! Just looking to tweak this so I don't feel so cheaty :)
Fibblit 15.10.2018 klo 1.07
Hey, is there any way you can add a way to prioritize recylcing by material type?

I'd like to have my colonists recycle stuff made from Hyperweave/Thrumbofur/Devilstrand and ignore everything else.

Once you get into the late-game mega raids it becomes too involved to micromanage your tainted clothing, and you can't process it all before the next raid. I just want to recycle the stuff made from high quality materials and leave the rest on the ground to rot.
viirinsoftworks 25.9.2018 klo 12.28
I was wondering if you could modify the recycle setting so you can target qualities? I'd love to let my pawns recycle Awful - Poor stuff and not target the Normal - Masterwork stuff, without having to Forbid things periodically.
Lanilor  [tekijä] 9.9.2018 klo 9.44
That doesn't sound like a problem with this mod and can have various reasons. Probably an error in a different mod or a conflict between mods. Try deactivating different mods to find out which ones cause the problem or look for any hints in the log.
the viking 8.9.2018 klo 15.34
I only find Smelted in two files; the relevant one being Recipes_Production. The entries in that file describe metal or slag smelting. How do we identify the 'recycling' smelting process?.. or do we have to increase all smelting yield to increase recycling yield?
./Mods/Core/Defs/RecipeDefs/bak/Recipes_Production.xml:84: <li>Smelted</li>
Thanks for the much needed mod!!
Runian 1.9.2018 klo 20.29
In what Defs folder do I find the <specialProducts> ?
25% back is to little :)
Thels 31.8.2018 klo 3.18
This mod apparently got updated on August 28th. What's new?

Also, are you still planning to make non-metal weapons recyclable?
Syrchalis 9.7.2018 klo 3.22
The product is special "smelted", so it takes 25% of what was used to made the item. If you want more return, just dublicate the line in the def. If you have it twice you get 50% etc..
<specialProducts>
<li>Smelted</li>
<li>Smelted</li>
</specialProducts>
Ozi 4.7.2018 klo 10.10
0.18 works
Lanilor  [tekijä] 4.7.2018 klo 8.15
I remember answering that question a few comments below if you would read that: It's exactly like the vanilla smelting which should be 25% and I think the other recycling mod uses the same way.
Svensk 4.7.2018 klo 6.13
@Lanilor - How much do you get in return from recycling? Recycle 1.0 gives 25% : How much does your mod give?:steamhappy:
Lanilor  [tekijä] 3.7.2018 klo 4.40
It probably will. But you can always just try it out instead of waiting for a response. There isn't much that could break with a backed up save.
Ozi 3.7.2018 klo 0.48
does it work with 0.18 ?
Tarsis 30.6.2018 klo 14.41
<3
Thels 25.6.2018 klo 2.22
Thanks for considering the idea :)
Lanilor  [tekijä] 25.6.2018 klo 2.20
True, it is a lot for conveniance. Also dozens of weapon items on stockpiles eat performance, especially on bad graphic chips. I currently have stuff irl to do, but I might look at this later.
Thels 25.6.2018 klo 2.04
Well, yeah, I agree it should only be a little bit of resources, far from the amount required to build a new weapon. I just prefer to have them broken down into parts automatically by a "Do Forever" bill, rather than having them lay around until I remember to sell them to a trader that's willing to buy them.
Lanilor  [tekijä] 25.6.2018 klo 2.02
Yeah, I thought about that. Its realism is limited, but I would also prefer to get only a few material items with recycling, even if it would be more inefficient than collecting new ones. It just feels bad to burn stuff for nothing.
Though making these weapons recyclable is a bit more complicated, I will see when I find time for it.
The good new is you can still sell weapons to get minor value from them until that feature is here.
Thels 25.6.2018 klo 1.47
Any chance to include an option to recycle wood, stone and jade weapons back into a small amount of their resources?
Lanilor  [tekijä] 24.6.2018 klo 15.46
It uses the vanilla mechanic from smelting. Should be 25% but I'm not entirely sure and can't test it at the moment.
ViRuS 24.6.2018 klo 15.03
Whats the % of materials you get back from recycling?
greyghostie 22.6.2018 klo 16.00
Thanks for sharing
Lanilor  [tekijä] 22.6.2018 klo 13.36
No, this works totally different from the mending mod. I've taken the core smelting as a base like the description implies.
Yeah, in vanilla you just burn it but I don't like that there is no other use for it, although recycling is a bit too impactful for my playstyle. I'm working on something different. This was just a quick 15-minute-mod for my next game and I thought I could also share it.
