if that is a neutron star, then from the size of the object in the picture (again if that actually is one, which i heavily disagree for two reasons) i would say we would probably be around 500-3,000 km away the reason i say this is because neutron stars are usually only around 25km in size. far to close for anyone to survive, that looks like a one however in this case it would more correctly be a "Pulsar" along with Magnetars, they have unbelievably strong Magnetic fields, strong enough to rip you apart. also pulsars have a major habit of spinning rapidly which causes the "pulsing" light emitted from them. from what i know and understand, that picture is most likely either be 1 as it says in the link a "massive baby star" or 2 a quasar! far as i can find neutron stars only develop accretion discs for the better part, is when they have companion star, in systems that are called "Binary Star Systems".

Hey, im super fan of stars and what you've done is amazing!! however, there are some mistakes in the wallpaper:

1. the surrounding gas is accretion disk like, so its trace should be somehow pointing into the centre;
2. the upper and lower long line should be a jet that spray out at two opposite direction.

hope you can make some changes, and i would be really appreciate it!

This is not a Neutron star my friends. This is a Quasar and it's basically a Black Hole that vomiting all of it's eatings.

the end of a star isnt called a supernova. nova, supernova or hypernovas are the explosions. A neutron star is a star which is in his final stage.
this isnt a pulsar, you're right, but it's also not a supernova xd it's a baby star but it looks like a pulsar so I called it Neutron Star ^^ baby star wouldn't sound as massive as neutron star does.

This is not a neutron star, this is the death of a neutron star. Its called supernova.
