how the hell do ya get rid of the head of your charcater cuz it shows through and is very disorienting

only issue with this mod is the lack of elite codpiece armour means that with human animations they just look very exposed... i get this isnt really fixable, its just one of those things since in the games they take a more "hunched" posture that hides their lack of middle armour (and is likely the reason for it) but it just looks a bit "bare" without.

are parts tintable?

is there a way to make the armor less metallic? trying to make Rats Vadum but white just comes out as grey/silver

I feel really dumb here but how exactly do you get to the Elite cosmetics? I can't find them anywhere.

Ive had a issue with using my elites as hackers/skulljackers, cause their armor is so huge when the hack screen appears you cant see it due to your camera being stuck in the shoulder (at least for the ultra shoulder) and while using skulljack with the arbiter outfit, i couldn't see the screen at all

Hey Friends, does anyone know why I enter the stronghold with my elites? They don't decrease the counter for "troops remaining" and they get sent back to the ship.

Likewise, they get left behind if they are on an "avengers defense" mission, they don't extract, they just get left behind.

i believe theres a mod that automatically disables any mod customization from appearing on random soldiers. you want to make Elites, you have to do it yourself. you should be able to find it under "Randomization".

That is certainly true. It is a matter of perspective so I can understand that. They didn't really do anything specifically hostile or toxic so it's not like they were being that bad on an individual level, so at the end of the day, it's really not that big a deal.

Fair enough though I disagree as to him begging. Shall we leave this at "Agree to Disagree"? As in the end it really is a matter of perspective.

Asking for fixes to a mod is different though, i'd reckon. If the mod has an issue with it then yeah it makes sense to pester the mod author into fixing it.

Dude, he literally asked multiple times for someone to do it, to the point where he said he'd provide the models if someone agreed to do it. I'm not sure how you missed that. That's the very definition of "expecting someone to jump on it." It becomes begging for anyone to do it at that point.

I am not taking it personally, i'm just pointing out how stuff like that can definitely get annoying. It's not a big deal, it's just genuine advice. I have said multiple times that he isn't being evil, malicious, toxic, etc., just that that sort of behaviour can be very annoying and that if he's going to approach suggestions, he should look into doing it differently, is all.

Annoying maybe but you're taking it on a personal level. He asked if anyone would be interested. That's not begging. Maybe they asked a little too often but that's still not begging. He didn't except someone to just jump on it. They said they were surprised it wasn't done as the models are easily available. I looked over their comments just to be sure and they still aren't in the wrong here. There is no grander scheme of things when you actively just shot down someone asking for help. Your bad reactions to others are being put here... They haven't done anything wrong and you again actively disincentivize others for asking. They were a bit rash on asking for the artist when they misspelled their name but still even the mod creator they contacted said they did nothing wrong. Yes they could learn to do it themselves but they decided against it. And they let it go. Maybe you and I should too?

It's annoying on it's own; if you want a mod so bad, make it yourself. Don't go around asking for free mods and then expect anyone to actually do it. It happens on Modding threads for many games, too, where it'll be filled with mod suggestions, instead of actual discussions about Modding and how to Mod things. But when it's in Modding threads, at least it isn't directly a content creator being asked to do something, over and over.

As I said again and again, he didn't do anything actively hostile, but his entire approach to it was definitely annoying. The business offer was put on the table, it was more than they were able to budget so they in turn decided against it. I've changed my mind on commissions too due to pricing being outside what I was willing to spend, if no work has already been started there's nothing wrong with it.

they didn't ask for free in this case. they were willing to pay. the price wasn't in their budget so they put it aside. you cannot blame the single individual for the behavior of others. His behavior was fine. How else were they to get answers outside of asking? I do believe the Magic 8 Ball approach isn't reliable. The didn't ask for someone to make it. They asked if anyone was and to inform them if it is ever in production. And again as for the realizing somethings out of your price range and backing off is a very adult decision. They never outright begged. They requested, when the request wasn't answered to their satisfaction they tried to find someone whom they could do business with. They are not entitled to their mod and they never acted like they were. You are also not entitled to their money.

As a content creator, this type of stuff is seriously annoying, especially when it happens often. On an individual level, as an isolated incident, this guy is fine, but getting requests like that to the point where they send multiple messages in a row asking for mods like that for free is definitely annoying, especially when it adds up, and multiple people are doing it. It's also especially annoying when somebody says they'll gladly pay after asking over and over for something for free, only to say their money is better spent elsewhere after getting the opportunity to commission the thing they spent multiple days asking for.

It's simply a request for him to have better conduct on an individual level. It went from a simple mod suggestion to someone outright begging, and skimping out a commission because, despite how badly they wanted a mod judging by the fact that they asked for it for days, they still don't want to pay for it. Just not very good conduct on their part.

He didn't do anything to the creator directly, and his conduct wasn't hostile, yes. Wanting the mod is fine in-and-of itself. But his initial 3 posts were about outright asking for this creator to add female sangheilis, to the point of begging, asking directly for anyone to make the mod and that they have the files for it. They didn't mention payment at all until you yourself said that they would have to pay someone, in which they turned down the request after tracking the author because, despite allegedly being more than willing to pay for it, they did a complete 180 and said "my money is better spent elsewhere" once they finally had an opportunity for it.

@Jackerino he didn't beg anyone. He inquired about how to PAY someone to do it. While I did give Hoshi a bit of flak for less than stellar search skills, something we've all been guilty of in the past. He did not beg, request for free, or complain when the price wasn't what they could/would be willing to pay. They handled themselves well. And instead of trying to argue with the creator they contacted they simply went with "My money could be more useful elsewhere" which is a reasonable response. I spoke to the contacted creator and he had no issues with Hoshi's conduct. @Hoshi Nebula have a wonderful day.

My guy, you sat here begging for somebody to make a Sangheili mod, then gave up immediately the moment you had to actually pay a decent amount for it, saying you 'have better things to spend your money on'. If you really knew all of this all along, then why did you do any of the things that you did?

Honestly I'm surprised no one has even put together a female Sangheli mod because female Elite models are everywhere and you can easily get them. Anyway you guys have a good one.

Never expected anyone to do it for free or cheap either, I knew it was probably gonna be expensive. So I just gave up on it. I got other things I'd rather put my money towards if, I'm being honest.

Word of the wise. As a modder myself (not of XCOM specifically but of other games), if you want something done, do it yourself, or be willing to pay a lot of money for someone else to do it. It takes a lot of work even from an experienced artist and just going around asking for people to do it for free gets you an eye roll from content creators. Absolutely nobody is going to do this for you for free, or for cheap.

I figured it wouldn't be cheap. I don't really wanna learn how because in all honesty It'll just take too long. So eh. Dream has been officially crush lol

i did warn you it wouldn't be cheap. you gotta consider that it's a LOT of work. you could always learn to do it yourself though. the xcom2modding discord could help teach you too.

I found him so I did the "basic search". But eh thats pretty expensive but its understandable I guess. Could spend it on other things. I think I'll just give up on this idea entirely and let it die.
